Portugal springs to mind as the probable favourite, based purely on the weather and the established venues that are in Villamoura etc, but there's a few pretty and challenging courses in France, Sweden and Germany, not too clued up on golf in the Netherlands though.

If there was a book running on it, I'd fancy either Sweden for a nice change (Halmstad maybe) or France ( Morfontaine, Les Bordes ? )

But then again, The Netherlands has that top Links course, Nordwicjks I think ??? Perhaps a good links course is what we need in The Ryder Cup again ??

Who knows, :D

Think Sweden would be the choice you've got Halmstad , Barseback, Kungsgannon and thers one besides Arlanda airport cant recall the name but are cracking courses and the Swedes have given a lot to the Ryder Cup with Stenson,Parnevik etc.
Holland also has Kennamar links which is a cracking course but can they hold a Ryder Cup is the infrastucture they go on about all the time there.

noordwijk is a quality place - never played there, but have been for work, lots of quality hotels etc, only half an hour from amsterdam, would have a lot of the infrastructure required, and the weather should be decent there at that time of year too.

I agree with Sweden, to make the most of home advantage it helps to have a few local lads in the team and I cannot see anyone from the other proposed nations qualifying.

much as I love the look of Les Bordes it is ultra exclusive and may disqualify itself on those grounds.

whichever course you pick, it has to have the capability of absorbing huge galleries.

I agree Sweden is likely to be top of the list for the selectors, possibly with a Swedish/Scandanavian captain, with Bjorn being the most likely contender.

From all i have heard Sweden would be a great venue - The swedes love golf and are a force in european golf.

I just hope they don't choose to play it on a US style course

I think you've missed the point chap that the golf course is probably the last consideration on where it's going to be held.....with the euro as it currently is I can't see it being held outside the UK....

I'm not so sure about this. The Ryder cup is a license to print money no matter where it's played. The European tour will look at the whole package of accessability, course and the advantage it would give the European team.

I'll go for Sweden too.Good courses, spectacular women :D,good transportation links, spectacular women, alot of scandinavians on tour and the women are pretty hot too.I reckon the deserve it much like Valderrama deserved during the seve/ole heyday

Sweden use Kronar mate not euro ,i think these countries deserve a shot for there contribution to the european team ,its not about England hoovering it up again.

Yes good point, however, unnfortunately England does tend to have some kind of infrastructure....can't wait to try to get to Gleneagles...Celtic Manor is ony just in Wales remember too...the problem with England is that as it's a proper country the government doesn't need to try to big it up like Ireland, Wales and Scotland with cash to 'buy' the Ryder Cup....

Sweden has chances ....Dubai probably more likely though....

Bollocks, 1st class bollocks though.England is indeed a proper country, as all the other places you mentioned.I reckon your the type of person who gives all the decent English a bad name with your little England attitude.
As for trying to get to Gleneagles, here's a suggestion, dinnae bother your arse.

As for Dubai, why would Europe want their shot at hosting given to the UAE?

England has some fantastic venues and a decent road/rail infrastructure, but my limited experience of Scandanavia tells me they have a much superior version than Englands (& Scotland & Wales)
Remember, it's Europe vs America.
