Tricky one this. Everything screams lesson and I know you'd love to put the workinto any drills you are given but with a young family that isn't realistic. I guess that is where we differ. It's just HID and me and she's pretty cool about me going out and playing and practicing all the time so I can do it with a clear conscience.

I'm wondering if the wide sole of the G15 is helping to shallow out the divots more and so give you that better contact even if you are a little directionally challenged. Maybe that would be the way to go. My advice would probably be to still get a lesson at least then you'll know how the land lies in terms of the swing you have and what is and isn't working and it'll give you something to base whatever you decide to do next on

The reason the i10s are giving you big divots is they have a sharp leading edge, most muscle back/bladed clubs have sharp leading edges for the better strikers of the ball.

That's why when you used the g10s you had shallower divots because they had higher bounce and the club sits up slightly off the floor resulting in you not cutting underneath the ball and taking a large divot.

I learnt this whilst having a Mizuno fitting, after hitting the Mp63, I was catching the mat pretty heavy where as with the 53 with a pocket cavity and higher bounce I was getting a much cleaner strike, and the guy explained the reasoning behnd this for me!

Hope this helps

Not that I've looked at them for more than 5 seconds in the pro shop, but haven't G15's got soles like the skid plates on F1 cars?
As someone else said, that'll be why the divots are shallower.

Are you still using your 'correspondence lessons' swing?

I thought JustOne was helping you through videos, or am I confused and that was someone else?

Kid2, some lessons don't need too much practice to show improvements. Long game lessons give me immediate improvements because ball striking is the best part of my game. Short game lessons, however, I have to work on really hard because it doesn't come naturally to me.
I think that if you hit the ball naturally before your problems started then it's quite possibly some fault that has crept in unnoticed and may be easily cured with a lesson.

No your on the ball mate.
But i was really struggling with it....And it was no fault of James'.
If i was to go that route then i think that id actually have to start completely from scratch i think and go the whole hog....
Im trying to get a swing from too many angles and what has happened is that i have got steeper and steeper and i think iv made myself worse.
Iv managed to confuse some people and myself i think!
