When it all goes wrong

Today after 3 good holes I just fell apart, no reason for it my swing just melted before my eyes, I couldn't do anything right. Has this every happened to you? what did you do to halt it? I just wanted the earth to swallow me up. I was so embarrassed. I cannot ever remember playing a round of golf so badly. Gutted.

Yep me as well, yesterday was playing with two ladys, never played with them before but joined them for a knock about.

First 7 holes went well ( well for me as a high H/C )and then on the eighth tee I went down hill so fast it was painful.

Couldn't hit my driver over 100 yrs and my long irons were as bad.

The only thing that stopped me from running for home was my chipping and putting.

Thankfully a 40yrd chip-in on the last stopped me going over the hundred, by 1 shot

O well never mind there is always tomorrow!!

Yep. Played with HTL in a match last year. Hit a great drive down the 1st and only a 9 iron left. Shanked that and then shanked, thinned or topped every single shot bar two holes where I made a contribution (winning one and halving the other). Most embarrassing golfing day ever. Thing was we only lost one down on the 18th thanks to HTL playing reasonably and them playing like idiots

It happens to me an awful lot at the moment, still lesson Wednesday so fingers crossed!

three good ones and the world's your mollusc. life has never been so easy and winning The Open is but a stroke away. you are so relaxed you have already forgotten the last time the biter bit.

Sounds like my round Saturday, Im probably a mid-teen handicap so was getting excited about being level par after 5, some tricky holes navigated and playing lovely golf and then - total meltdown. Topped my way tee to green on the longest par 5 for a 9, smashed it in the trees on the next and hacked it out into the water. Another 9. At that point I just laughed, you have to, I was being punished for thinking about my great score at the end of the day, how great it would be to tell everyone I was meeting that evening about my fantastic round, ego got the better of me and I forgot you don't tot up your score until the 18th is holed out. Finished on 90 and told everyone I had an up and down day. No more than that.
