Gone for the Masters as it was the one I could watch as the Open was just as harvest was kicking off on the farm so had to do with listening on the radio .

The Masters, beautiful course, the history. the association with Mackenzie and Bobby Jones, and watching the succesion of European success starting with Seve.

The Open without a doubt.

For me one of the main attractions of The Masters was that it mostly took place in the evening UK time so I could watch most of the action, but now that they've sold out to a bunch of Skysters the available viewing time has plummeted.

I really like the Masters, I'd love to play there. I could watch every minute of the masters, I doubt I could do that with the others...

I'll even be glued to the par 3 comp on the wednesday too!!

The Open's in a league of it's own. I enjoy the Masters, Augusta's a very pretty course and makes an ideal season opener but it's probably just me that doesn't think a major should be played on the same course each year.

The Open by miles.

It's on a course I can play, In weather I can play in, and I can attend without taking out a 2nd mortgage. Its also covered by the BBC and nothing makes me more nostalgic for Summers spent golfing as a kid than the BBC Open coverage music starting.

Totally agree but I hear the BBC may lose it to sky in the future

The masters is like rugby league. A minority sport. It's not golf as I know it. It's a jumped up invitational, on a manicured terrain, with tricked up greens.

The open is useless to me. It's on a moon scape, and on telly when I'm at work.

The us open is daft. Stupidly penal rough, tricked up greens. Any bozo can win.

So that leaves the PGA.......

The Masters for me, it signals the start of the golfing season and, hopefully, the final nail in winter's coffin.
The place is so beatiful & it's so unique.
It fills me with hope & confidence for the rest of my golfing year.
If I was a pro I'd rather win The Open though, it's a truer test of golf and not an invitational.

Slime.

When I dream or fantasise about playing a golf course, its not St Andrews, Muirfield or Troon, its Augusta National. Easily the most beautiful major championship course in the world and the tournament I most anticipate and enjoy, apart from the Ryder Cup.

The Open, I think. erm. Maybe the masters, possibly.....

I think the masters gets a few extra points, for when it is - it signifies the start of the season for most amateurs, as well as most golf TV watchers, and we are at our most suggestible. If the masters was in August it would still be great, but slightly less attractive.

Oh sod it, the Open!
