What's the worst Course you've played?

Gotta be Ellesmere Port muni for condition, Not a bad layout but boy is it crap condition wise.

Brackenwood muni is an excellent track again let down by its condition.

I remember travelling more than 100 miles to play at Pilt Down in Sussex. It was awful and since then must have improved. It couldn't get worse.

Piltdown is quite close to me Shanker, and I've played it a few times in the past. Other than getting quite boggy during really wet weather, I don't think it's a bad course at all.
What didn't you like about it?
Rob
It was a long time ago but the greens were awful for a start and the general condition was just as bad.

Minty

Originally played it way back in 1990 and despite vowing never to darken the fairways again played it in April this year. I have to be brutally honest the holes you described were good holes and definitely the pick of the 18. I went back with a clear conscience and played it with competent golfers (low teen and single figures) whereas before was a works society do. I just didn't like it. I played well so can't blame my game but it took 4 hours 45 to get round as a 4 ball on a Wednesday morning!

Homer,

I understand mate, I have a few courses that i've had bad experiences at and would never go back. As i said, the Abbotsley is always slow, they've never been able to get it sorted, it must be something to do with the layout.

For the money.....

The Belfry :(

Easy.....next.....

Belfry is a dump. Crap course in my opinion yet GM make it a top 100 course??? Aye right.

Greens were decent but its not a stand out course, in fact I think its a rather poor course to be honest. Not a patch on a place like Spey Valley, or indeed a Boat of Garten.

Hard to pick but probably Southern Valley in Kent. Nothing especially wrong except boring, boring, boring.

Smiffy - am surprised you have such a downer on Arras. Been there a couple times; first time three years ago then last year by popular demand amongst the eight of us who make the trip. Can't think of much wrong. Perhaps its been done up since you were there?

I am just glad my course isn't on here (yet).

Seriously though, Campo di Golfo in Buenos Aires takes some beating. It is a grotty muni, which hasn't had any money spent on it in decades. I think the rough on my track is better than their greens. A shame, as there are some great tracks there, but not this one.

Top house in New Zealand is unbelievably poor, but it is a laugh, with great views. The owner of the farm is making his own course, for his own entertainment, it is only 5 holes, and they are all terrible, but that isn't what it is about.

I have played Abbottsley, but I can remember nothing remarkable about it.

Ruislip is pretty poor.

First half dozen holes, boring as hell. Up and down between marker posts and hardly any grass on the fairways. Some Mickey Mouse holes where you didn't know where the hell you were supposed to be going. It was about 8 years ago I played there so it could have improved I suppose...but I remember thinking at the time that I'd rather have had my carp fishing gear with me than my golf clubs because of all the lovely lakes on the course.
Wouldn't rush to go back to be honest.
