What's the longest and shortest time you've taken for a round?

Done our course as a 3 ball (social round, so we had gimmies) in just over 2 hours.

Also did it in a full comp round (we were the first tee at about 6.50am) in 2hr 25. We were all friends so just played "ready" golf. Couldn't believe how much quicker it made it.

Think I've only ever walked off a course once, been going for over 5 hours and had only reached the 12th. Longest completed round was about 5 and a half hours at a corporate do.

Done a couple of five and half hour rounds at Dornoch and a 6 hour at Spey Valley.

quickest in a comp would be the Ross shire county championship, our 3 ball was out 1st and we coming down the 18th as the last group was going out 2. 20, we had lunch and were straight out again and were 2.30 that was with two scratch players

2:45 is normal for my PP and I if we're out early doors. We've had a couple of 5:45s at other courses though.

I have endured several 5 hour + rounds at our course at weekends, especially if there is a medal on. My quickest ever round on an 18 hole course was 1hour 15 minutes around Dartmouth Park in West Bromwich. I should explain that was a long time ago when I was a young and very fit football playing teenager. Myself and a mate played on a day when it was pouring with rain, so there was nobody else on the course to hold us up, and we ran between shots. Even in more recent times I have got round a deserted 18 hole course in the evening, playing by myself, in 2 hours.

Time is not normally a huge issue for me when playing so couldn't really tell you the quickest and slowest as I can't be bothered to race round.

But at Spalding one windy afternoon in the medal me and my playing partners NR'd after 13 holes and headed into town for the 5:30 game in the Premier League. We teed off at midday and it was gone 4:30 already 😳. Endure another couple of hours of ridiculously slow golf in the wind or sit in a nice warm pub with a pint.

I've taken three hours to play seven holes at a course in Venice Beach, California today. No idea what could be holding everyone up on the 8th hole today.

2 hours 45 and 5 hours 30. Average is around 3 hours 40 when there are a mix of 2, 3 and 4 balls out on the course early in the day!

2hours 30 at my home course in a two ball in a comp. Had to clear the two ball with comp sec after 3rd player failed to show.

Think close To 5 and half would be the longest

Under two hours as a two ball.
Over 5 hours in a Pro Am.

I refereed a Ladies County final in the 1980's when the players shook hands on the 12 green at one hour 15 mins.

Much the same here. Had a few slow rounds. I never rush around myself to play 18 holes. I cant take it serious myself. I'd much rather spend the same amount of time playing 9 holes and hitting a pile of chips and approach shots.

When playing solo I'm practising so I just make sure I'm a hole ahead of anyone behind. If I felt the need to rush I might as well gone for a walk.

When playing in our usually 4 ball its about 3-4 hours depending on the group in front, the weather etc etc we are, after all, out to enjoy our game.
