Mine came from the guy who fitted me for my new irons he said to swing within Myself. Simple I know but it definitely works I was hitting the ball much straighter and didn't lose any distance. Just wondering what's the best advice someone has ever given you?

Not to get worked up or annoyed if you have a bad hole.

Tonight I started with three pars......then a 7.....put it out my head, then had 2 pars, then had another 7 then 2 pars..then bogie...then par. When I finish a hole I put it out my head and start again. Seems to work as before my head would go down and i'd be hitting more 7's and 8's.

Pretty much this. The moment you realise there is nothing to be gained by flinging yourself at the ball the game becomes so much easier.

Wear a condom.

Don't eat yellow snow.

Follow the green cross code.

Don't play with matches.

If in doubt take an extra club.

These are probably some of the best rules that I still follow today!

Do not try and make up for a bad drive by trying the impossible with your next shot. Remember you can't change the fact you hit a bad drive, but do not let it cost you another shot by not getting the ball back in play......

This is something that has just recently clicked with me. Once you realise you can still hit it a long way without swinging hard at the ball it makes it much easier to get a consistant strike.

My older brother telling me to hit down on the ball to make it go up.

Thought he was takin the mickey, give it a go and was speechless when it soared.
