there is an awful lot of money been spent on all your clubs ,my bag consists of the following.
Driver.....Mizuno MP001 .....COST £0 given to me as a present.
hybrid and all my irons .....Yonex xpg irons go from 5 to s/w plus a gap wedge .....cost £0 won in a competition on this site .
putter ,golden goose .....cost £0 won on another website
bag.....John letters cart bag ....cost £0 xmas pressie from swmbo
trolley ...same as bag
all above would probably cost me around £2,500 if i had purchased them myself .
the only item that is over two years old is the driver and i am currently looking to replace it sometime very soon .

I wonder what Freud would make of this? Tiny todgers, big motors etc...

What a load of rubbish. People choose to spend money on sorts of things in life and the amount spent has bears no relation to the size of their manhood.

If you have the money and enjoy spending it on golf (or any other hobby) then why not? Why do others have to judge? If you have a golf bag filled with gear for under £100 it shouldn’t give you the right to slag off someone who has chosen to spend 50 times more. Likewise, if you have a bag of gear worth £10k it’s unlikely to make you a better player than the guy with a mish mash costing £150.

Not to mention anger management issues...

It's interesting that anyone who winces at large amounts are suddenly charged with judging. I for one would never spend what some do on golf clubs but expressing that does not mean I am sitting in judgement of another. I am totally in agreement that money is yours to spend how you like and don't for one second feel that spending loads on golf clubs is a bad idea.

I can still express that at the same time as wincing at thousands of pounds spent on golf clubs. Its a reflection on me that I wince, not you.....so please stop jumping to conclusions that I am judging you on your choice of spending money

My comment wasn’t aimed at you. It was another post with the assertion that anyone who spent over £x on equipment was compensating for other areas.

Don't spend a lot on clubs. Don't particularly buy second hand stuff, usually just look out for deals and maybe after i've gotten some cash for my birthday or the like.

However, I think I might start investing in wedges a bit more often. This is possibly one area where you actually get value for money buying new and replacing more often than other clubs.

But again, look for deals and i won't exactly be chucking 2 new Vokeys in my bag every year.

In reality, some tour pros will keep Drivers, Irons and Putters for more than a season, but will change their wedges maybe more often than once a season.

Usually buy cast offs from PP's...

Callaway driver, four & seven woods... £100
Cobra irons... £120
Selection of hybrids... £120...
Oldest club in bag being a Ram Zebra putter for a fiver...

Probably still have quite a few redundant clubs lurking at the back of my shed...

I'm back into golf after a 2-3 year break, already sold and replaced my whole set minus three putters Odyssey and 2 x Scotty's which i'll never part with. Current in the bag is now:

Titleist 917 D2 Driver (X Flex Speeder)
Titleist 917 F3 13.5 Degree (X Flex Speeder)
Titleist 818 H2 19 Degree (X Flex Tensei White)
Titleist MB 716 4-PW (KBS C Taper X Flex)
52, 56, 60 SM6 Vokey Wedges
Odyssey X Blade No.8 (In pro shop getting a re-grip for a Fatso)

I bought a new set of clubs today (The MB's) off a local pro (there the exact same spec as my recent titles custom fit session) and have very light use, he only had a handful of rounds in them before getting the 718's and didn't want to part with them too soon just in case. I have now sold my older AP2's and CB/MB sets. The MB's were an absolute steal there like new and i'm striking them like a dream (I had 712'S previously)

I've recently bought all the clubs but the MB'S and 818 H2 have only seen their first round today. It was a tough decision on the hybrid for me between 2 iron or hybrid in 17 or 19 to fill the gap between 3 wood and 4 iron but opted for the hybrid in the end in 19 degree, I've turned down the loft to 18.25 for now and it seems to be catering for my needs.
