What's happened to green fees post COVID?

its amusing how other industries regularly get accused on here of profiteering for putting their prices up due to the pandemic etc, golf clubs seem to get viewed very differently

I think profiteering can only really apply to essential goods and services.

Golf is a luxury item, and is always a choice.

Another issue is "more members" so they put up green fees to reduce visitors. Our club did that about 3 years ago as we were full and didn't want/need the traffic... it worked as in the following year about we got about 15% of previous year's visitors.

Sounds harsh for visitors, but members' club putting its members first.
