What would Rory shoot round your course?

Not Rory (he'd just find some excuse not to play anyway ;)) but the European Tour do play here so (off their tee's) the winning player average in good conditions was just under 68 and it looks like 65 was the 'good day' low score

Coming and playing as one off game then mid to high 60's. Playing it regular on the PGA like they use to up until 2007 then I would have thought he could have stuck a low 60's in. The course record is 62 by Davis Love III.

Right now, he wouldn't break 70. Greens too slow, rough too thick and wet, tees slightly too uneven and the shoddy sand in the bunkers would have him pulling his hair out. I'd get his two quid for the roll up though, before he ran away.

Mid 60's comfortably, low 60's (62-ish) on a good first run.

Justin Leonard has our record of 64 (when he was good, think it was the year before or after he won the Open). Par 5's would be eaten alive the distance the pro's hit it these days. Maybe only 1 or 2 par 4's he could drive or get close but he would be flying all of the trouble that even the pro's in Regional Qualifying this year had to contend with......

Give him a week or so playing it and <60 would be possible

He'd have no more than a wedge to all the par 4s. All par 5s would be a mid iron for his 2nd shot.

Give him a few goes and he'd be in the 50s without doubt.

The biggest hurdle for him would be getting used to the slow and (by tour standards) bumpy greens.

Our current course record is 6 under, pro & am.

When I watched the Andy Sullivan, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood blogs with Mark Crossfield, I was surprised at how they didn't appear to eat the courses alive that they played. Not that I kept score to be honest.

I reckon he would shoot mid to high 60s, first time out, if he had an average day. If he played it a fews times then for sure on a good day it would be low 60s or maybe 50s but for that level of scoring that is one hell of a lot of putts sunk, whatever course you like to say.

Two of our par 5s would be easy, two par 3s very easy and about 4 par 4s would be silly short for them.

I broke down a course i know well with what he would be hitting

Basically he is hitting wedge to par 4s with one exception
Many holes he is greenside off the tee, pitch and putt for birdie
4 par 5s all reachable..

No trouble
No testing tee shots
(BY HIS STANDARDS) not mine or most others..

He would simply be dropping wedges on the pin all day and having a good look at a couple of eagle putts minimum
