Today I went to my local AG looking to buy a new umbrella as my other one is quite short and when clamped into the umbrella holder on my GoKart trolley my head knocks on the arms and I have to duck while walking to see where I'm going. While in AG the guy there told me that I would find that will happen with all the umbrellas as they aren't designed to go in the holders and won't be long enough apparently the only one that would do the job is the Powakaddy one.

Is that really the case??

It seemed a bit odd when he told me that none of them would be right for the job of clamping it in, keeping me dry but also being tall enough for my head to not bang on the arms and also to stop me having to crouch down a bit to see where I'm going. I wanted to get the Ping tour double canopy brolly but don't want to fork out £30 if it's not going to do the job.

Dunno. I use a £3 holder from Sports Direct and a £9.99 brolley (from an "outdoor store") which is far superior to anything I've ever seen made by a golf manufacturer.

I have a powakaddy and use a titleist umbrella and it's fine. But it the salesman was being, well a salesman.

I've got a massive Asbri brolly and it fits no probs into my Gokart holder. I'm 6'2" but dont leave the brolly in the holder when i'm walking though , I carry it.

It really depends on your height, any umbrella that fits the holder will work fine for for a small/average height player. I use a Ping Tour umbrella and find it okay for me at 6' 2" with my Powakaddy, but my normal Ping umbrella was a little low.

You would be better trying a few at a Go Kart supplier or ask to take a few out to your trolley with an assistant. Good Luck.

I've got a Powakaddy trolley and brolley and I find it a little low and I'm only average height...........must be the raised heels in my shoes!! :o :D

I dont own an electric trolley, how easy would it be to extend the holder with say a small length of black plastic tubing from a diy store?

I use a Taylormade Burner brolly.

They fit well and do give the option to walk underneath while fixed to the trolley.

I'm 6ft and find there is plenty of room, though I often carry the brolly when on the move.
