What to you play, 7 wood, hybrid or 3 iron

20 degree hybrid for me, although a mate gave me an X16 3 iron to try and seem to hit it well never tried a 7 wood but could be tempted to try just to compare.

Long irons for me...

I used to love hitting my fairway woods, but lost my way with them.

Switched to MP Fli-Hi 2, 3 & 4 and they've changed my game completely.

They don't go quite as far as the woods and they're harder to hit out of the rough...but I find myself missing the fairway a lot less than I used to

I have a cobra 7 wood sat in the garage if anyone wants it...pay for the postage and it's yours

Hybrid for me for the variety I get from it. I can hit some of our longer par 3's with it (in theory if not practise) and I can use it out of light rough and the fairway. Even been known to use it around the green too

from the tee i prefer a 3iron because i have the tendency to hook my hybrids. from fairway and rough i prefer my 21° hybrid, much easier to get a decent strike

I have a 3i and on a good day it's one of the most satisfying clubs you can hit, my 3i is level with my 5w just with a lower flight and I don't carry a hybrid.

Now there's a 7w in my garage that is awesome, but I don't enjoy it as much as a pured long iron

I prefer to hit my 3 iron from fairway or tee,but next to useless from the rough which is why i carry a Hybrid. My Hybrid is 19deg which distance wise is more 2 Iron than 3 Iron, but easy enough to choke down on it to take a bit off.

Pretty much my answer also, except my hybrid is a 17*

The 17* fills the distance gap between my 5 wood and 3 iron nicely.

7 wood & hybrids are for when you have lost it, my take is to use any of them then you must be struggling to strike your irons and they are as bad as the long putters we keep hearing about. If you really need them then what can I say other than fill your boots or get to the range.......:whoo:

H'mm. So why aren't you still using a persimmon driver? :D

Had a 7-wood many years ago but didn't get on with it. Recently put a 4 hybrid in the bag - to keep the 2H company. Scores dropped and consistency increased. Same reason I've stopped playing blades (throughout). No ego me - though not (quite) lost it. Nothing like the feel of a well struck blade; nothing like the feel of a slightly mis-struck blade!

when my nephew hits his 3iron, the ball makes the most beautiful fizzing sound as it rises slowly into the air like a plane. makes me jealous :mmm:

Have a 3Iron 7Wood & Hibrid. they take turns in the bag. Just depends the course I'm playing. Its not what you carry but how low you score.

Still searching for my "perfect" hybrid.
I'm using a 21* Razr Tour, When I hit it properly it's simply stunning. Yesterday (en-route to putting Fragger to the sword again) I'd topped a drive on a par 5, planted a 4 wood to leave 186 to the pin with a cross-breeze.
Out came the hybrid and it flew to 5 feet and I holed it for the birdie.
Today I had a similar shot but just couldn't connect with it at all.

Currently use a hybrid as I can hit it way more consistently than the 3 iron. Plus, I can use the hybrid out of the rough with better results that a 3 iron.

Used to have a 5 wood but replaced that with a hybrid as well, am tempted to find a hybrid to replace my 3 wood.

I'm tempted to re-visit the 909 hybrids........
