We had the poll not so long ago about what keeps your scores low so I thought it'd be interesting to see it from the other end of the spectrum.

The titles pretty self explanatory but what part of your game hurts your score the most?

GIR. Hitting plenty of everything, and chipping great but I'm not hitting enough greens. I put all my rounds into one of those stats sites, and it gives you a 'handicap for each part of your game. MY GIR is showing as 22!, and I currently play off 6.

Putting. That's not to say I don't have a lot of issues elsewhere, but putting lets me down badly.

Chipping. five or six times on Sunday it took me 4 shots to get down from 40ft or less. Dodgy chip to just hit the green after being no more than 5-10 yards off it then some nasty 3 putting and a four putt.

Based on today's round ... Driving and bunkers ... Lost all my shots by being seriously out of place with my drives and when I hit a bunker.

1 of the above is usually shockingly bad for me every round. I cant pick one as its a different thing falling apart each week

My driving the last 6 weeks has been a disgrace, and only that my short game has come on to get me out of trouble Id be close to quitting the game.

Chipping. It has been my nemesis for 18 months and only now and I getting more confident with the linear method. I recognise the need to get better as this is the scoring zone. I'm not there yet but getting better all the time. It is defintely stopping me getting to 10 or lower as my ball striking is so much better this year

Isn't the part that keeps your scores low the same as the part that holds you back..?

If I drive well, I score well

If I drive poorly, I don't......

You may putt well and score well - equally if you putt badly you score poorly....

Swinging the club very well tonight and so my long game is in a happy place. Just need to refine my bunker play, chipping and putting ready for Monday and beyond. Chipping is the key for me. Get it close when you miss a green and it makes scoring so much better even if your striking isn't "on"

I sometimes lose concentration for 3 or 4 holes and that can cost a few dropped shots. I guess it's Rosecotts "old age" category!
