My name is Christian Mortensen I’m a Sport management student from Copenhagen Denmark. I recently started my bachelor project and I’m writing about golf tourism. I hope you will participate in this survey. It only takes a few minutes.

Thanks in advance:)

Please weigh on a 5 point scale the importance of the listed factors when choosing a golf destination. The points have the following meaning:

Not important 1 2 3 4 5 Very important

Please write the factor numbers followed by the points you give. Like this 1)5p 2)3p 3)2p etc.

1. Quality of golf courses (design and condition)
2. Price of package
3. Climate
4. Quality of accommodation (hotel, resort, golf club)
5. Accessibility (direct flights, accommodation close to the golf courses)
6. Golf tradition (the golf tradition in the destination)
7. Entertainment (restaurant/bar, cinema, theatre, shopping etc.)
8. Number of golf courses (in the area you stay)
9. Quality of service (staff service at the golf club and accommodation)
10. Quality of practice facilities (driving range etc.)
11. Golf courses are designed by international recognized golf architects

It's intresting that most people have 1 as an important factor yet 11 and 12 as low. How do you know the quality of a course you've never been to apart from using the course designers reputation and what the media have to say about the course.

1. 3p
2. 5p
3. 4p
4. 3p
5. 4p
6. 1p
7. 4p
8. 2p
9. 3p
10. 1p
11. 1p
12. 1p

N.B. My game's not good enough yet to be overly bothered by the quality of the course.

For me, for a golf trip, it would definitely be the quality of the courses above all else. Top destinations (in no particular order) would be Scotland, Ireland and Lancashire coast so I can't really rank climate that highly :D (prepares for flak from Scots, Irish and Lancastrians)
