Ok lads/ladies, just wondered if their is anything you struggle to over come each time you play.

Can be something major or minor but i would like to hear about it.

I only ask because i think mine is stupid yet it seems to get me everytime and i wonder if its just me.

When i stand on the tee and line up my shot, pick out my line and then address the ball, if the tee is not facing square to my target, i find it hard to play the shot straight.

I seem to be aware for some reason i am not square to the tee and tend to try and line my self up with it. Then I know i am not facing where I want to. So i shuffle about and then swing, trying to play square to the tee again.

Not quite as bad now the winter boxes are away and i now have a pre shot routine but every now and then if the tee is way wonkey, it catches me out.

If the tee is pointing left it usually results in me pulling the tee shot or if it faces out to the right, I slice.

Just me? :(

Nope, not just you mate.

Down the driving range, hitting them straight out of the bay, no problem, everything is aligned.
Make a shot left or right and the problems start. The mat you shoot off is then misaligned, the bay walls are out of square.

Dunno what it is mate but I suffer the same as you!

One thing I struggle with sometimes is having the conviction to play an agressive chip shot around the green in order to get the ball to check a bit. I usually end up pulling out halfway to the back of the ball and duff it about 2 yards.

This is not just you.....no way.....I'd say that the worst tee shots (from me and other players) in club games at mine come on the holes where the intended line of shot is not parallel to general line of the tee area.
Over the winter, I made a point of re-aligning the winter mats on every tee which helped me and hopefully those following on. The biggest pet hate I have is when some numpty goes out, sticks in the two yellow marker pegs and basically sets the line way off target. On one hole, the ladies red markers were aimed directly left at a big tree 80 yards down the fairway......no surprise players find it hard to get their alignment good. It doesn't bother me once I'm off the tee (I make/find my own alignment) but there is something bad about standing aligned to the shot when the tee feels all out sorts. If it's bad, I often take 2 paces back from the very front of the teeing area so the boxes/posts etc. are less unconsciously visible.

My set-up can be awful.

When I had a few lessons in the winter it turned out my body was open, feet aimed right of target and my head was behind the ball - when you see yourself on video its amazing how different you swing aswell, as I can swing far too flat.

I used to suffer similar but now, regardless of the angle of tee box I carefully position the tee/ball behind some mark/divot/feature on the tee box that gives me the intended line. Focus on this point and square up. It does the trick for me and helps me get in the "zone". Interestingly when I am that focused, nothing distracts me. It always puzzled me how Monty could hear a cough at 400 paces.

9 out of 10 of my drives end up going right, slice shot. I'm sure its in my mind, as all other clubs are fine, even if I take a 3 or 5 wood of the tee they are fine, right down the middle, but give me a driver and I can't stop the slice.
