Tricky but playable for me.

Either through the course or the weather conditions (i.e. this years open). Makes it much more interesting to watch for me personally.

I thought watching the Presidents Cup was quite refreshing, it makes a change to see the pros play a 135yd par 3, a 155yd par 3 and a 305yd par 4. Can't criticise the course at all.

Tough but fair is what i like.
Perfect faiways and no hazards are nice to look at,but the golf becomes boring.
I would like to see most tournaments won,at 4 or 5 under.
20 under is too easy. However saying that you would expect a pro to have
5 birdies a round.
So i would like to see a course that produces a few birdies and plenty of bogies.

Royal Melbourne looks superb, but personally think the greens are too quick. In this sort of competition especially when playing fourball better ball, it is nice to see holes won with a birdie and not a par.

I like the fact that at the presidents cup they have moved some of the tees up to give a better risk / reward, rather than lengthen everything to the max. Makes watching more interesting.

May be they should do this for stroke play tournaments too?

Tricky but playable for me.

Although target golf is awesome to watch, I'd rather see players using there head (thinking their way round :D) and a multitude of skills to post a good score.

Tricky but playable.

What was the need to get the greens running so fast. 11-12 is still very very quick. It almost as if they have set up the greens mentally quick to prove something.

May be that is just the speed they are?

For the us open this year they had to slow the greens down from what the members play on, as the pro's don't like them that fast.

Id like to see them play on my local muni(had a knock with a friend who has only just started) the rough was full of nettles the fairways full of divots the greens looked like rooney's head bald in parts and running about 3 on the stomp, the bunkers were full of builders sand complete with shells and no rakes and the 5!!! ball in front played out of 3 bags, are they spoilt on tour.

11 to 12 wouldn't be bad. Bob Bubka was saying on the radio this morning that they were running at 14 yesterday but they had to water them heavily to get som grass on them and slow them down. Apparently they were so dry and fast you could pour water onto one of the slopes and watch in run downhill like it was concrete.

I do think the greens this week are bordering on the silly side. That putt Choi had on day one was daft where he was facing away from the hole was only lacking a laughing clown or a windmill. I'm all for making the greens tricky but surely tight flag placments and a better speed is the answer. Courses shouldn't be tricked up. Make the rough penal like a links course or thick if its parkland so a mid iron is all you can dig out. Make the surrounds on the greens so that a good lie isn't a given. Put a premium on playing properly and hitting fairways, attacking greens and being punished if you miss either
