Can you not make your own yorkshire pud? Tjis is about stuff you miss, not stuff you can just do at home?
Funnily enough, when we go out for am meal, which is most of the time, they won't let me use their kitchen.

I trust you realise what the initial purpose of Yorkshire pud was! And when it was served!Funnily enough, when we go out for am meal, which is most of the time, they won't let me use their kitchen.
Me and wife have often said that but thought it was just us, we would visit a couple of Greek restaurants when posted to Dusseldorf and in the 25yrs we’ve been back we never found one over here that compares to them. One other thing I like is Greek food, like you get it in Greek restaurants in Germany.
Having some Greek flat mates in university, it has nothing to do with Greek food in Greece, and Greek restaurants in the UK are different as well. Nearest we have here in the UK are Turkish restaurants.
Have you tried asking by talking louder and more slowly at them? Normally works with foreign types.
With some proper tzatziki & Hummus dips.Proper halloumi from Cyprus
Just seen this thread sharky. Gona check um out tomorrow 😊Following on from Tashy's excellent thread about things you'd miss from dear old Blighty, what do you crave when you go elsewhere and miss when you get home?
From the States, it's Nilla Wafers. I always bring about four boxes of the things home and they don't last very long. Same with Peppermint Patties.
Sensible politicians, something like the Germans or Swedish have![]()
Time to visit a Sam Smiths... not quite that cheap but close to it.In Budapest we were drinking a lager called Dreher that was 5.2% and cost about £1.50 a pint. It was a really nice lager as well. Never seen it over. Nor have I seen any pints going for £1.50, since I was about 16 anyway.![]()
Isn't that the point though? Something either isn't available, or "isn't the same", when you get home. So you miss it?Naff all. Loads of stuff is nice when you are there, but most of it doesn't travel.
