Well that was rather wet and windy today to say the least. Though I have something to smile about.

Borrowed the demo MX300 from the pro shop, (nice people), and headed out in rather inclement weather. The facts are;

Birdie Conversion: 0% (Hcap Std: 28+)
Par Scrambles: 8% (Hcap Std: 27)
Driving Distance: n/a (Hcap Std: n/a)
Penalties Per Round: 2.00 (Hcap Std: 20)

38 points on Stableford.

All things considered a good days golfing.

The 300 is awesome. Now I can't wait to get the full set.

The putting has improved. I've been playing around at home with a new method of gripping the thing and it seemed to work really well.

My question.

I did not enter the stableford comp this weekend, hardly seemed much point, as I was expecting a bad round in the weather. However, because of my score I would expect a handicap cut had I of entered.

My honest side says that I should hand my card in anyway. But as I didn't enter the comp, does it matter?

I don't want to be seen as trying to protect my handicap, and I wondered what the protocol is for this? Any advice?

Put the card in and see what happens. You can't be accused of protecting your handicap then. What's the worst they can do? Not cut you. Simples!

Good scoring today. What was your gross score? On a day like today that's a decent round.

Good on yer Hapless!

What's your handicap Hapless? The reason I ask is that I had 38 points last week and never got cut. The CSS was 67 and my gross was 92. Handicap - 24, in case you don't have sigs switched on.

Oh, and well done by the way. :)

Golfmmad.

You were not playing in the comp, so personally the card should not be entered, its lot like you have totally blown away what your handicap states and you are constantly playing a lot better than it ( reading between the lines of your origanal post) but no harm in entering it anyway.

A lot will depend on the CSSS for the comp you did not enter in but took part in during the day if you would have due a cut.

I also do not know how Scoresaver could recomend a cut of 1.5 shots. According to CONGU who regulate the handicap system. Its a loss of 0.4 of your handicap for every shot under the CSSS.

I spoke to the club today. They're not bothered unless I start doing it week in week out.

Today's weather couldn't be any different to yesterday's! And I'm 'stuck' at home with the kids making do with the practice net in the garden!

Better keep yesterday's card, just in case!

Got to say that the weather was that bad I nearly walked in with the scores of others.
It didn't let up from 1st shot to last. Everything was wet, kecks, socks, shirt, head, bag, grips, 5X gloves.
In the end I played without a glove and kept my hands warm in mitts.

Shot -2 nett by clubing up and playing easy. Didn't enjoy it at all though.
Had a club throwing member of the 4 ball that plays off 8 and had used all his shots up by the 6th hole. He spoiled it more than the weather but hey ho.

I played in glorious weather today!

Dull and overcast this morning when I woke. On the 1st tee for 9 o'clock and thought the waterproofs may make a showing. A fresh cold breeze in the face but set off just wearing a polo and sweater.
By the 5th tee the sun came out and it brightened up completely.
At the turn it was feeling quite warm. So much so that on the 12th I took off my sweater!

Played the rest of the round in short sleeve order. Returned home and took a nice shower.
Mixed fortunes with the round but I was more happy then depressed with my performance!
