I have to drop my handicap, the no.1 taget for me

Answering the what hc are you question is embarrassing. It's almost like I'm apologising when answering :(

Single figure HC is my target for 2016. Playing a few more courses would be good too, I seem to be playing well enough to enjoy them and it's generally a good way to play without it affecting HC so a good opportunity to relax and tweak a few things. Apparently, there are over 70 courses in Greater Manchester so I'm going to stick my name down for a few club matches and get around a few. Probably play in a few team opens too for the same reasons.

I managed to get down form 18 to 16 this season so my resolution for next year would be another cut of at least a couple of shots. To achieve that I need to continue to work with my wedges and on the short game.
Also to play a few more away courses.

Consolidate my handicap back into Cat 1 and tick off a few more top 100 courses next year, got 5 lined up so far.

Oh....and win the Open :D

Thought you might put winning the 'Westlake" at Trevose as one of those goals D4S? Another one should be to play Mullion whilst your down Cornwall next.

All the above ... but none of it either.
I think i have reached my plateau, and more importantly have realised it too. I did have dreams of getting down to 12-15 range. The game has been kind to me when i started, so got a lot of kit and played at every opportunity i could find. my handicap has been very range bound between 17-19. Some days I shoot in the mid 80s, but then it goes the other way the next weekend and I will shoot a 105.

So being on the wrong side of 40, I have decided not to have any goals, but to play within myself. Also have given up any desire to have any new kit fitted... Will go with flow.. currently enjoying my son hack around. This weekend we have a adult comp and a kids comp happening at the same time on different courses, so i decided to not go and caddy instead..

If i had to pick one thing i could do on that would be to go on a golf holiday... it might just fire up the old mojo.. Till then I am happy to hang around the forum...

PS: Happy holidays everyone

I think the Westlake is in October? which is when I tend to go to Myrtle Beach. Pity it isn't the first Saturday in Sept, then it would make a great 72hole weekend with the Goodman Trophy at St Enodoc on the Sunday.

To not set any goals and have fun on the course, believe I got to wrapped up in getting cut last year and let the pressure get to me,
Play more courses, already Booked for St Andrews, TrumpNastie Tour and Legacy Trophy at Gleneagles:clap:

Just one aim for next year, start enjoying my golf more for what it is, my hobby. I have already started to do this and had a great game last Sunday in our winter league beating one of the favorites, I am sure if the result had been reversed I would have felt the same. Play the game with a smile on your face and what will be will be.

I want to hit a hole in one, haven't managed it this year so can't do any worse can I?

Had a couple of very near misses out on the local Golf course but coming second is not normally an option for me because I am a winner!

As directly above ^^ been playing for over a year now, still no handicap. Even if it means shooting in the 110-120's, handing in 3 cards and getting 28, at least I'll be able to play in comps and gain experience. Often the pressure of competition makes me perform much better!

That has to be the way forward. Enjoy the competitive challenge

After hitting the practice areas hard and working on all aspects of my game to get my handicap from 17 to 10 last year and being club captain this year my resolution is just to enjoy my golf as much as I can this year.
I'm not worrying about my handicap, comp results or how much I practice. All I want is for the team to do well in comps and to represent an approachable member of the club for all members and visitors.
Hope to get to Turkey for the captain pro challenge too but that's another story.

Well for 2015 I wanted to lower my handicap to below 18. I started on 25 and I'm now playing off 17.2. My doubles partner (my dad) and I also won the doubles championship at our club.

My 2016 resolutions are:
1) lower handicap to below 14
2) successfully defend the doubles
3) win the club championship

Not asking for much ;)

I currently play off a solid 8 handicap. Main resolution is to become more competitive and consistent in competitions. To also get to a good stage in my pairs matchplay event. So not much really .

Also hope that my purchase of psi taylormade works out ha
