Played today and set a personal best score round our course of 76 (4 over par). Even more pleasing was to score gross par on the back 9 which is the first time I've ever done that.

Funny thing is that my strike isn't quite as it can be with my mid irons but was never in trouble and never hit any real duffers. No doubles on the card and birdies on the 11th and 12th certainly helped.

What a way to finish the year :whoo:

I spent some time analysing my scores 2010 versus 2011 yesterday and figured I was in the same position as this time last year - with a handicap around 5 shots higher than it could/should be. Not going to revise my 2012 target of 12 though as I put too much pressure on myself...

Happy girl - very

Happy New Year

If we have a manchester v mereyside ryder cup this year, it has now been decided to be an all-male event, unless you play off the yellows!!!!

Well played BTW.

Well done Amanda... must be great to shoot a score that low!!!

Makes all the hard work seem worth it!!

Now, only thing left to do is beat it in 2012...

Well played Amanda, your year certainly ended better than mine.

I've just got in today after my last round of the year where I was hit by an attack of the shanks. First one was a 6 iron on the 1st hole but the worst was a 7 iron on the 16th when I had two of my playing partners twisting and turning to dodge a ball skewing across in their direction, it was like a scene from The Matrix!

Needless to say I didn't score too well.

Well batted, Amanda!

I too have finished the year on a high. After a pretty miserable 2011, when I have managed to go up from 9.1 to 10.5, the last few weeks have seen an improvement in my golf. I made the early resolution to just go out and enjoy myself, and did just that in our monthly stableford today.

Off the whites in blustery conditions I knocked it round in 8 over for 39 points, enough to get me back down to 10 just in time for New Year. It has taken a whole 365 days to play under my handicap in a competitive round in 2011, but it had to happen eventually! A pity I left it so late. The most pleasing aspect was that I had only 27 putts.

Roll on 2012!!
