Dont know about everywhere else but it is looking mighty bright here in Chester this morning. Just seen the weather and the little bit of cloud that is around is set to clear soon (fingers crossed)

Actually feels like a summer's morning and I am off to the club to take full advantage of the situation.

Whats it like where you are?

Hope its nice, double figures today i think.

Thats crazy, There isnt a flake of it anywhere here and there hasn't been for about a week. Count my self lucky. Apparently, this warm(ish) spell is set to last for a few days atleast.

Maybe it will be enough to clear the last of the snow and get everyone back out there!

I'm hoping to get out around lunch time- there is currently a layer of cloud cover but with the sun attempting to burn through, metcheck forecasts rain this afternoon but I might take a gamble.

It's looking good for tomorrow around Cirencester. I hope to be hacking around with the seniors. Don't know what to expect on the course.

Absolutely gorgeous here today. Temp reading is 11 degrees, hardly a hint of breeze and some light fluffy clouds just breaking up the blue.
And I'm at work.
Deep joy

Smiffy, you are not supposed to be playing anyway.

I know.
Was just letting you know I was at work
Clubs are in hibernation for a fortnight until I play at Chartham Park on the 26th....although my mate is trying to tempt me back out this coming Sunday.
I shall resist. Shan't I.

Just got back from my round, played like a plonker, hooking the ball all over the place but what a day! Played the back 9 in just a polo shirt and chino trousers, had to strip of my base layer at the half way house was boiling.

Yeah was lovely all day here, Really bright and warm. Not warm enough to lose the jumper because there was a rather strong breeze. Course has dried out alot so thats good.

Off topic a bit. Got the first card in today. Bit of a dissaster. shot 89. :( O well, just two more to go.

Played again today and shot 82. OK but nothing special. But I noticed something at the lowest part of the course. There is a maze of drainage channels that all congregate in a pond by the 12th tee. This pond has a channel cut into it to drain excess water into the natural stream that borders the course.
The problem is the drain channel is not cut low enough so once you get 3 feet of water in the pond it just stays there and can't drain out. And because the area is very flat there's not much pressure from the water waiting to drain away from the rest of the course. Result? The rest of the course is still sopping wet when, for the sake of an hour and a couple of shovels they could have the water flowing away. Barmy....

I played after my shift this afternoon, course is still wet but fully open.
Was a bit parky at first but after a couple of holes I was peeling off the layers.
Confidence is really high at the moment,Shot -4 gross :D for 11 holes, backing up yesterdays -3.it is a short winter course though it has to be said and Im nailing my driver which is leaving very short shots into many holes.

Need a week of dry weather now to help the course get on its feet!!

After having 4 holes closed yesterday I found my course of choice for today fully open on full greens, and the weather was very pleasant indeed just like a nice spring afternoon- I had gone out with base layer, polo and jumper but had to loose the jumper on the first hole. It was great to be out and even better still the course was in miles better condition than I had expected, the fairways were a little bit wooly but the greens were marvelous for this time of year, and fortunately I was putting well. That said having been striking the ball beautifully with my irons yesterday on the range I was very optimistic today and proceeded to shank a number of approach shots on the front 9 and it was also apparent at this stage that my 2.5 months of not being on the course had affected my ability to score even if regular range sessions had partially maintained my swing itself. I was driving the ball well off the tee though hitting one drive 273 yards measured with my skycaddie although this was with the wind behind. The fairways were nice and firm though so I needed to sort my strike out and I knew I would play well and holes 5-9 were all aimed at preparing myself for the back 9 which I was going to record my score on as I knew if my irons sorted themselves out I would do all right. Anyway I ripped it up with a score of +4 for the 9 holes on the full version of the course which equals my PB over those particular 9.

Anyway I am very happy with the weather, the course condition and the condition of my game (on the back 9- I should think I'd have been about 12 over for the front 9 if I'd recorded scores :D
