here in Edinburgh.

So to make the most of it before the heavy rain forecast for the rest of the week, I'm off down to Gullane for round on number 2 using the free GreeFree voucher from last month's mag. :D

Don't work too hard all.

You lucky lad, enjoy. Nice up here too but quite cold....winter's coming :(

No golf for me I'm afraid. Bloody pros and their pals taking over the course for the week. Nice to watch mind.
Next golf for me will be here on Tuesday....

Can't wait.

Playing tomorrow - should still be decent weather just a bit cooler. I like this time of year. Don't know why but its just nice.

Well it was a beautiful day in Gullane and the golf was pretty good as well. +5 out and +3 back: well, plus 3 for the 8 holes I finished that is.

Bit annoyed as I could have broken 80 for the first time away from my home course but for a lost ball off the tee on what should have been a relatively straightforward par on the par 5 16th. Only 460 odds and with breeze behind took a hybrid off the tee for 'safety' and never saw it again (see my other post on New Club Problems).

Surely the most annoying, scream inducing, club throwing shot in golf: the 'safety' shot which you promptly make a complete f***&** mess off.

as post somewhere else enjoyed last weekend 36 holes Saturday and 27 holes Sunday. Played in a Help the Hero's day on Wednesday, 4bbb top score 159, top indivial score 44 points h'cap 3

Playing this afternoon. Clear blue skies out the window at the moment. Nice.

It has got to rain soon though. The grass is all yellow and the ground like concrete. The greens are perfect though.

The bunkers are junk as ever. Found a rock in one last week the size of a babies head. Couldn't get it out, but left it uncovered so no one else would catch it. Bet the greens staff just raked the sand back over it though.

Agree with Murph. We are desparate for some rain at my course. Its like June. I'm having to hit 3 woods off some tees as the ditches I'd normally be short of are all in play. They have tined and sanded the greens and although very slow are still putting ok. The ones they did last week are almosts back to normal and its just a pain having some that are treated and some that have been fully done when it comes to judging putts. Have to say our bunkers are improving although there are a lot of stones coming through in the them but at least most have decent amounts of sand in now.

All in all its looking good. Shame I can't play this weekend. Got a lesson tomorrow so I'll be down the range in the afternoon working on the inevitable fixes and the course is closed on Sunday for Finals Day. As I only got to the 3rd round no chance of me competing this year (or any other year so far)

the rain can stay away a bit longer for me.
finally getting out today after a real 4x of a week at work,
playing GB72 on Sunday, medal next Wednesday and final Society game of the season (at Brampton) on Thursday
