Westwood - Another big chance!

12 years since Westwood last won on the PGA tour - do you think he can win again this time?
There don't appear to be any big guns anywhere near him so you'd think he would have a great chance at the '5th major'.

Hope he can do it but when the pressure's on his short game often doesn't hold up. Personally I would never back him in a big tournament.

What's the forum verdict - glory or agony?

if he can shoot a 4/5 under today, he stands a good chance on Sunday, provided he plays his normal game and dosent go into ultra safe mode

I think we owe it to Lee to back him as much as we can, it isn't easy to win a major or any other big tournament these days as all of the field can win. C'mon Lee play well and win.

Hopefully he has learned from his recent attempts and can continue his good form and take full advantage of the position he has given himself.

It would be good to see him do it this time. If he falls at the final hurdle again...well... these chances won't keep coming, will they

I certainly think he has enough big event experience to draw on now to realise what he does and doesn't need to do to close it out. He seemed to be driving as well as ever last night and so if he can hit fairways and get a lead I think he has a chance. I'd love to see him do it

Today is abig day for Lee hopefully he can continue what he has been doing finding greens and making putts, although I am not a big fan of his style of golf I would love him to do well.

I wouldn't mind having a rubbish short game like his.
I think he looks so ordinary because the rest are so good
Still, 4 events gone so far this year and around 1m Euros tucked up in the bank plus what he makes this week. I dont feel sorry for him.

Good call Westwood for the open, especially after last year he isn't going to miss many greens because they are massive (unless its windy)

I almost feel that if he's ahead after 3 rounds he's almost got to win it otherwise it'll start to prey on his mind. So near at the last 3 Majors and not winning this from the front could knock his confidence.

Come on Lee - We should all be behind him.
