Thanks folks, very kind of you.

7 under CSS with an actual starting handicap of 20.7. Think that gets me 7 X 0.4 lopped off (2.8) which would leave me at 17.9 :whoo:

Crazy really. Target was to 18 this year and, if calculation above is correct, might have pulled it off in last qualifying comp!!

Apologies for digging this up. Got a notification from Howdidooody saying new handicap is 18.5???

Can anyone explain that given the score above?

Any help greatly appreciated. Have researched the usual sites and still have no explanation????

Mate, I think that your 1st 0.4 cut put you at 20.3 which is cat 3 (I think).
You then start coming down in increments of 0.3 (again, I think )
Think that all adds up to 18.5.
A great result and you've had a great season.
Carry on like you did at ours and cat 2 won't be far off this time next year

Ah OK. So the amount cut drops as you drop category. That would make sense, and the maths work!

When I had my shoes and socks off last night trying to figure it out I only had all 0.4 and all 0.3 in my head. Couldn't get to 18.5 for the life of me!

Thanks Andy.
