Well done Celtic

Re: A simply ludicrous result.

11% possession  makes it even more outstanding IMO

Display was awesome also tonight in the stands.

11% of passes, 22% possession...which is probably standard for teams against Barca.

An epic performance from Celtc, congratulations. I've heard alot of people say it's their finest result ever, those same people must think football started in the early 90's.As a football club, Celtc have had far better results, a certain one in Lisbon for starters.I just hope their European journey continues, not for the co-efficient,it's normal for them to have a poor week domestically after such a result.

Re: A simply ludicrous result.

Wanyama really looks like a class act. Big, strong guy but also very mobile.

Delighted for Celtic and their fans, this result reflects well on Scottish football at a time when everything else up here is total pants.

Catch yourself on, Barcelona never turned up.

Great result but there is still a lot of work to be done if they want their hands on the trophy..
We still have 2 hard games, Away to Benfica and home to Spartak. IF we get to the last 16 I will be happy the last 8 would be a dream but we have no chance of laying our hands on the cup.

Re: A simply ludicrous result.

After a schoolnight bevvy session, 3 hours sleep and now a raging cold, I am beginning to crash... could do with some kip, but 4 hours to go at work.

Worth it though! :D

Big Victor is one classy stand out player in our league and he is only 21 years of age! Cost us £900k and is now worth ten times that.Keeping him will be problematic I feel as the performances he has been putting in this season have been immense.

10 times?

Your selling him short matey ;)

Re: A simply ludicrous result.

As a St Johnstone fan but more importantly a Scot - well done Cellik - brilliant result. Anyone else notice the nice coincidence that the shirt number of Wanyama is 67 - now that was a very important year for Celtic, Scottish and British football.

Re: A simply ludicrous result.

But the crowd is given as just under 56,000 so where are the empty 4,000 seats?

In reply to Scott...Funny to see a ... continue their obsession with attendance figures.......apparently last night was a world record for a game between Celtic and Barcelona on 07/11/12.

Front 3 or 4 rows are out of action in each and every CL game due to some CL ruling. It was a sell out long ago.I had a chance of a ticket but turned it down as we had a very important meeting I simply could not miss.......it was cancelled Wednesday morning by which time the ticket was gone.Raging now but my voice was croaky enough this morning so god knows what it would have been like if I had been there!

Re: A simply ludicrous result.

59,000 watched the club formerly known as Hearts play Barca a few years ago at Murrayfield.

Saw a bit in a paper yesterday about Mr Green not allowing Ibrokes to be used as a venue for the Scottish Cup semis whilst Hampden undergoes Commonwealth Games refurbs.
Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face

Re: A simply ludicrous result.

The points we drop on the weekends after CL games won't count come May,the cash we earn in the CL however will be.

Wont be as much as the transfer fee Celtic will get for Victor Mugabe Wanyama!

I would expect he may go in the summer and for at least £8m. A great piece of business for us and something more clubs in Scotland need to start doing more and more to function well. That and producing some decent youngsters which is only happening a a few clubs at the moment.
