A little like Mono suggested I think a weekly scores thread would be a good idea. No league table or pts system just on a sunday evening we start a thread titled "weekly scores" with the w/e date. You can only enter one score (your best round of the week) like below

Gross / Handicap / Par / Net Score
95 / 25 / 71 / -1

If someone could build a table to put the scores in i think the thread would look tidier but i'm not sure how to do this.

As we know golf is a game of honesty so just go with your best score from that week, there are no prizes so no point in cheating. Anyone who thinks its a stupid idea, simply dont post your score. For everyone who like the idea I will start the thread on sunday evening for everyone to post.

If anyone knows how we could set the thread out so its easy to put the scores in then let me know.

Just think it'll be a good bit of friendly competition and we'll get to see some idea of how eachother are playing.

Isn't it bad enough having to post your own score on the computer in the club house without doing it again on here. Sure, if it is a good one, but 99% of mine need forgetting very quickly. I could be visiting this post about once every ten years.

We just put our cards in a box.

I also think it'll keep the lounge a bit tidier as I for one post a score on the forum if i've had a good round. I think the idea can be developed, its just to keep tabs on everyones scores and we'd get a good idea of our form leading upto a forum meet.

Sorry, cannot resist posting it again

90 of 27 net 63 7 under par

and good enough to win the March Medal

Homer, if you are expecting good company, you are going to be disappointed, I am the least happy golfer I have ever met.

Mournful, that's me. My natural state.

Not sure I'll be posting many of mine for a while. I'm dreading my score at Leatherhead even though I know the course, and the company will more than make up for my rubbish

Sounds like Saturday at Leatherhead is going to be a bundle of laughs then :( Still, HTL should be in good spirits in our 4 ball. Note to self, don't talk about the rugby :o

Better still, ask him about his pitching wedge or shall i say wedges into the par 3 at the hertfordshire.

I'm getting down to the practice ground early. HTL has promised me a clinic on how to hit the 150 yard PW or is that the 150 yard throw as the 5th ball swims with the fish.

Murph, I know enough from your posts on how you see life. I'm picturing a golfing version of Marvin from hitchikers guide to the galaxy. "its only a par. Oh well whats a golfer to do. not much fun unless I lose a ball"
