Weekend games?

I'll be turning up for another Sunday knock. Entrance money (£3) and prizes (6 usually) but despite 80 players playing off a measured course, there'll be no cuts or 0.1s.....story of my life.

t.b.h. I'm counting the days to join somewhere that is interested in maintaining the h'caps of players who have to earn a crust on a Saturday and only play Sunday.

Despite the gloom (really, Dave?) I shall enjoy it and love every moment, be it 79 or 89.

No more games until after Easter for me - nexst one is the first medal of the year - see if I can extend my winning streak to 3 in a row (won the last comp last year and the first this year!)

Where were you playing Owen - certainly very windy in Perth as well.

+1 thru 12 holes but blew up on the in stretch finishing on 33 pts and me and my partner lost our match 3&1. Never mind - just good to be out!

Blew it and got 98 in windy conditions with a ball in the pond, one in the river and another drop from a bush, playing tommorow for my second card and then a medal next week. :(

Very windy today but nice otherwise. Tough conditions. All the toughest holes were playing into the wind - including the 232 yard par 3 16th. Yes folks, that's a 232 yard par 3. It ain't exactly a big green either!

Got pin high but 5 yards left of the green and was feeling pretty chuffed for getting that close. So, of course, I thinned a chip through the green and ended up with a 5.

Tough scoring. I'll be really interested in seeing what the CSS is for the day. When I left there were only a handful of people under their handicaps.

Didn't set the world alight score-wise (79) but the first time I ever remember not having a 6 (or a double) on my card, so very happy.

I don't think I made better decisions on the course, it's just that none of the iffy decisions came back to bite me :)

I blew out the official roll-up and played with a mate.

I'm glad I did, no wind to speak of and other than slow weekend players, it was nice out there.

As was my score. 75 gross. (4 under the winter tee SSS)

Don't know what pleases me the most, 13/14 fairways or 30 putts, or back-2-back birdies (par 4 15th and 16th, both 9 irons to green) or achieving all this with some beaten up Callaway diablos and/or AD333s.

Hmmmm...... :)

Played today...perfect morning apart from the greens, which were probably the worst I have seen (or putted on) for several years - wet, bumpy, slooooooooow....joy!

Had 13 4's but also a 6, 7 and an 8!!

Princes tomorrow - should be nice getting soaked at the seaside.....at least the greens will be better....

Too right. Ours were shocking too (the greens).

Is it Sandwich? has it always been Princes?

well, its been a busy weekend. Practiced yesterday and was about average. played our inter-city game today and won my own match taking the 17th and getting a good half down the last for a 1 hole win. Very windy today and my driving was rubbish!

half term soon and can practice some more.

I played with myself this afternoon.....

Nine holes - two over par. Three bogeys, one birdie and five pars. I'll take that.

It'll all fall apart beautifully on Tuesday..... :o
