Only really of interest to people in the Glasgow area but I've just seen that they've gone into administration. A shame as I think it's been a great local department store but perhaps not really keeping up with the times. You could get some good bargains in there but at times seemed a bit hotch-potch in its stock selection. Still, sad to see it go.

Yes sad - I knew well one of the Watt daughters...

Was one of the few remaining family department stores in Glasgow - might have been the very last. Sauchiehall Street won't be the same. And though it wasn't a big store in Clarkston - it'll still be missed from there.

It was an interesting store.

They have one in the new retail park in Greenock as well. Online shopping is clearly king.

Yes, very sad to hear. My mum worked there for many years.

But the world moves on, shops like that are simply not wanted any more by enough people to keep going.

Watt Bros, was always a good place for Glenmuir stuff at a decent price.
