I remember watching this guy play at a few European tour events I went to in the late 90`s and thought this guy was destined for golf greatness,he was an awsome ball stricker and the game seemed to come so easy to him, you just thought he was next in line for superstardom .Bennett won the Australian Amateur and was leading Amateur in the Open all in the same year(94),he`s had the second most wins(7) all time on the Nationwide, played the European tour from 99-04 and managed to win the Scottish PGA championship in 99.I believe he played on tour on and of a few times after this.Bennett is now a caddie on the European ladies tour, what a fickle harsh world it is for a Tour player......

Wow, didn't know he was a caddie on the Ladies Tour. The ladies don't make a lot of dough, so he must make a lot less.

Even worse it seems initially he had a bag on the European tour and that was Wiesberger, who won this week!
How hard must it be for him to go back to the tour as a caddie, taking s**t of a player when you know you were right up their once, seems like he should have stuck with Mr Wiesberger thou ;) .

True, but his Boss doesn't make 40,000 every week. She made 139,000 Euros last year on the LET, and I doubt if her caddy got more than 1/4 of that.
If he`s player made 139,000 Euros he would have been on under 14,000 Euros in prize money for the year,he may have got a weekly wage thou but with the player making this sort of money it wouldnt be much at all, must have been tough taking into account travel etc, although saying this according to The European tour site he made 1.2 million during he`s career from 94-08.

I was assuming a small retainer plus contribution to travel costs as well as the usual formula of 5% of purse, 7% of top 10 and 10% of win.

Used to see him occasionally playing at Ruislip GC in the late 80's... Think everyone there believed he was to be the next best thing... Despite some good results his career never panned out as hoped... Believe his dad was a footballer...

Was at Manston Golf centre today, looks like he's taking over (or setting up a golf academy) there in the new year.

Needs someone to drag that place into the modern world ;)

Caddies only get 10% when the player wins.

If their deal is 10% for a win....I doubt many are on 10% in fact. Weekly wage and a better % for the better the finish. They are caddies at the end of the day so as long as they have enough for their next beer and packet of fags then they are ok..... As long as golf clubs continue to keep them out of the clubhouse then the world will be alright....
