Me and Murph got knocked out last night despite shooting a 2 over gross round.......opponents went round in level par.

I was receiving 1 shot as was one of the opponents and Murph got 2.

Very tight match...first 3 holes were halved then we lost the 4th. Got it straight back at the 5th, then halved the next 5. I rolled in a 35 footer on the 10th for the half when they thought they had it won.

Shot of the match then belonged to Murph when he holed his second shot from 100 yards for an eagle on the 11th.
Those 2 holes knocked the wind out of them and Murph used his shot on the next hole and par won the hole and we went 2 up.

It went a bit wrong after that and they somehow managed to win 4 on the trot which included 2 birdies. That left them dormie 2 and par on 17 was enough for a half and the match.

We were pleased with our play and normally 2 over gross front nine and a level par back 9 would have seen most opponents dispatched, but these guys were made of sterner stuff. Level par got them around 44 points which would have won the board comp 4BBB at our place, so no complaints.

We'll be back next year older and wiser..........

Would have thought your no doubt blinding outfits would have been enough for you to put them off for a few holes at least!

Sounds like you both played some good golf.

We went out to a pair that had 5 birdies in the first 13 holes, all with their shots off. Bloody bandits!

I checked with the organisers and buggies are allowed.......bit of a Mickey Mouse competition obviously, not worth winning if you ask me....
