As bad as eachother ?
But which is which? One’s stupid the other is cheating.
One potentially gets you into big competitionsOne seems pointless one is simply cheating

What ? Both are cheating !One seems pointless one is simply cheating
True but you still get to play big comps often on great courses for heavily reduced rates. Then they go back home, play with mates and get the handicap back down.....and repeatAt which point your ability gets found out and you look daft
If you beat the course 'regularly' I'd suggest your handicap is too high. How exactly do you determine a vanity handicapper ? Monday I shot +10 didn’t actually play that bad greens had been just cored and greens full of sand and putting was horrible as a result. This morning I shot -2 on probably a harder course. I’ve noticed myself mid/ high handicap players seem to think low single figure golfers are robots and don’t have blow up games. I can play horrible sometimes like everyone but difference is I can also beat the course regularly as well.
Mines probably is too hight now but I’m asking what makes a vanity handicapperIf you beat the course 'regularly' I'd suggest your handicap is too high.
Usually, very few cards submitted, and those that are, only when players form and playing conditions are optimal to chances of a better emd of the spectrum score.Mines probably is too hight now but I’m asking what makes a vanity handicapper
I attended a golf conference a few years ago where there was a visitor from the USGA. His topic was great and hilarious - the USGA does follow up on players who have been accepted and played in US Open qualifying, but have had abysmal scores. He reported some of the responses they had received, such as, "I couldn't make it, but sent my brother. He said that he had shot 78, not 97."At which point your ability gets found out and you look daft
Maybe they meant beat the course in gross terms. If you beat the course 'regularly' I'd suggest your handicap is too high.
To be able to say, even if its deception of both himself and others, that he has that handicap. Every golfer takes some satisfaction or pride in their handicap as a measure if their standing or ability in the game. Some, so much, that they cannot restrain themselves from faking it. Ego combined with insecurity.not sure why he wants the low handicap as he never plays to it
