I was at East Fortune when the Vulcan flew in on it's last flight to become a museum atraction. Some sight and some noise from those big engines.

How weird, the Vulcan Bomber was one of the main attractions at today’s East Fortune air show. I was playing at Dunbar and was lucky to watch this aircraft for the first time in about 30 odd years when it used to be a regular sight over the East Lothian sky’s.

Beautiful aeroplanes! I worked on all 3 of them when I was at RAF Boscombe Down in '55. Admittedly I only did the electrical pre-flight checks, but it was something. My personal favourite was the Victor, with it's very futuristic lines and droopy wings when on the ground. The Vulcan was a long way off the ground at the front and we needed a very long ladder to get up to the cockpit. The Valiant was a bit ordinary looking. A very nice link - thanks for that. Happy days!!
