Evening all,
Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this...

After using ProV1's for the 1st time during last summer i can see the difference that these balls make in the short game.
Now lets clarify this now that i dont actually buy these things new as they are ludicrious in prices here...

My local golf shop sells very good quality 2nd hand NOT refinished ProV1's at 25 euro a dozen..They are not lake balls and only have the marker pen marks on them...These may have wear marks on them but they have no signs of wedge marks or anything severe like that....

I bought these this morning as the price of a dozen AD333's are the same price....

Would you use good quality tour balls before new 2 piece balls?

Myself im now firmly in the Tour Camp

I'll let you know in April once I've used my new Z-Stars for the first time. Love the AD333s, hopefully the z-stars will help around the green. They're on sale in alot of places for 24 at less than 40 quid, which is a steal.

I buy pearl grade 2nd hand balls off ebay and I cant tell the difference except sometimes there is pen marks on them but nothing else. Much cheaper that way and I'm less bothered when I lose one :)

Agree with the above, got a flyer through the post today from AG and they are selling z-stars for £19.99 a dozen , stock up before the new ones come out as i dont think they will be around long at that price.

Still a massive fan of the dx3 and it's gonna take s good ball at s mega price to change. I loved pro v's but I'm not sure if my bad shots were exaggerated due to the higher spinning ball.

Also this time of year when greens are soft I don't see any mega advantages. Maybe in the summer when greens are bullet hard I might swap back for 2/3 months but the dx3 seems soft enough. I do have a Wilson staff fg tour to test (thanks bratty).

I think in general there are some good and understated balls on the Market at the moment

I dont tend to lose too many so usually end up with a few battered ones at the bottom of the ball pouch. I use my pro shop account or buy the Pro V1s marked as practice and blank out the word practice with a black marker to make it a putting line. They are £20 a dozen for brand new prov's, cant say much fairer than that.

Seem to have more golf balls than I know what to do with at the moment and so it's not a problem I definitely think providing they are only used and not refurbs or lake balls (in particular) then go for it. However if you can get some brand new ones in the sales then I'd stock up and maybe get a new one put for a competition

Used to buy brand new srixon soft feels but when i was playing alot 3-4 times a week i used to go through a few so now i just buy pearl grade one's off ebay for half the price and they save me alot of money.

There definately not refurbs or lake balls Homer....
Thats why i like them....

How much? I can get a dozen new for 30 euro some times and 35 normally which doesnt seem too bad. And like brendy tend not to lose too many so always end up with a load of battered ones at the bottom of the bag.

I don't go in for lake balls or refinshed ones. A couple of charity shops in my area have baskets of old balls in the summer. £1 for 3. Can often pick out the odd Pro V1 amongst the Pinnacles, Topflites (and Commandos) if you search through. Must have got about a dozen over the last last year or so, some virtually new others ok for the practice bag.

In general though, for a comp, I like to put a nice bright shiny new ball on the tee at the first.

This years model of ProV's are between 49.99 and 55 euro Chris....
ProV's at 35 euro a dozen brand new sound a bit too cheap mate.
