Unusual, I know, but I'm posing...

reading the various opinions, it seems like D, but would you have taken the same line if it was in a burrow, but out of bounds ;)

Yes, as I always try to play to the rules - but do have to say that this is an unlikely scenario as being an old git I rarely hit the ball far enough to go out of bounds (just thought I better get that in before Murph posts a similar comment).

its a very good question, and i would have done b but i think d is the correct ruling. i think there is a similar question on the r and a question and answers quiz :)

I would never say that.

Not to someone who lays up on par 3s.

With a driver.

My point exactly.

:D :D

I must have missed your previous reply as to how few, sorry, many points you managed to cobble together at The London Club meet.

I think that we must be told. ;) ;)

I haven't had a decent laugh today... dish the dirt!!

I dropped one shot on the five par threes. Not so shabby.

The rest? Average 'cough'. Decidedly average. Got a double sandy par. Got up and down from two green side bunkers. Drove ok, not well, but ok. Only shanked the one shot. Putted ok.

Just didn't add up to anything much.

But, and it is a big but, donking it round for a steady 35 points, laying up on the par 3s, where's the fun in that?

No shame mate.. I think I hit it OB 4 times yesterday, started with 2 blobs and couldn't feel my fingers after the 4th hole - I was proper freezing!

4 birdies cheered me up (as they tend to do) but only momentarily until Smiffy took an unassailable points lead by making an absurd birdie!

Stupid Ping clubs! I was almost willing him to play well :(

You are right there

You still haven't said how few - sorry many :p

I must admit that having retained the honour on the par 3's over the water, I had to put up with not only the good natured banter from my playing partners but also the frenzied waving and ribald comments from the very slow group in front who insisted in waiting to cheer my tee shot into the water.

Etiquette?

If there is money on it, forget it.

Come on Murph. How many points did you get???

I heard some of the gossip from HTL on Saturday. The way I heard it was that Leftie saw everyone else in trouble and just played the precentage shot. OK a lay up with a driver isn't textbook but it stayed dry. He did say it was pretty cold though (and he's Welsh and knows a thing about cold)
