UEFA how low can they sink.

I haven't seen that story but I can't see Spain or Italy being in a position to restart their seasons any time soon and I fear that we could be in the same position within a few weeks. Will be an interesting draw for next years CL and Europa when it's only Belarus that have actually finished their season.

The whole sport is devoid of integrity.

Paying millions to players while expecting government to pay the cleaners and ground staff.

Or have I missed something?

The MP's looking after themselves; Large companies ducking tax;Underhand tactics of city trading to the benefit of the few; PFI arrangements screwing over the public & crippling the NHS to the benefit of private companies. Any of those ring a bell? But it's only football that's rotten to the core?

For Christ's sake open your eyes & give it a rest.

Totally agree, nobody whined when the PL players paid £3.3 Billion in tax in 16/17 (latest figures available) or the fact 100,000 people are in employment because of them.

Yet the UK’s highest paid sportsman lives abroad to avoid paying tax and gets away with not being mentioned.

Wasnt aware I'd mentioned or ignored any other groups and this thread is about football.

Dont you find the two things odd? Do Premier league clubs really need to claim that money?

I'm looking forward to watching the Champions League final

Barcelona v Chipping Sodbury Working Mens Institute 3rd 11

Who needs to give what a rest?

People who continually point out supposed issues with one sport while conveniently ignoring other ills need to give it a rest.

This thread is actually about UEFA, so let's look at clubs competing in Europe competitions.

Juventus players have agreed a 4 month freeze on wages.

Barcelona players have agreed a 70% pay cut.

Bayern Munich & Dortmund players have agreed to wage cuts.

Robert Lewandowski has personally donated €1 million to the Corona Virus battle.

Chelsea offering their hotel to NHS workers.

Yup, football is devoid of integrity.

Football is in a right mess. Without a Covid19 vaccine how can they expect anyone to go to a stadium?
Football is nothing without fans.
Golf may have an opportunity if they can weather the current storm...

Shouldn't the furlough scheme be capped in some way, based on savings and personal wealth, or is it?

I don't think it is because as I've read that Levy has furloughed himself, so he will claim 80% of his £4m pa wage, seriously?

And that's just after the club's accounts for the year ending June 30, 2019 reveal Levy earned a £3m bonus for delivering the new stadium, does he really need to dip into the pot just because he can?

I'm sure there are many others doing the same, but this was a headline I just read, so not just picking on Spurs, but I do like to.......:sneaky:

The maximum available on Furlough is £2.5k a month.
