I watched the snooker last night, the commentators were horrified when Selby hit his cue on the table after missing a shot. Is this the end for snooker
Every sport has rules and disciplinary action. Nothing new here except the outcome is more severe. If golfers enter the competitions, they are accepting these rules. If it really were to kick off, sport appeals go to the Court Of Arbitration for Sport. There is a process in place.dangerous territory.
the amount of whataboutery the arbiter is leaving themselves open to would not be worth the hassle.
could get ridiculous, even litigious if outcome meant loss of earnings
cant imagine a claret jug being awarded retrospectively after an upheld appeal on a contentious disorderly conduct penaltyEvery sport has rules and disciplinary action. Other sports manage. If someone had a meltdown on the 16th, final round, I imagine the referee would be on the walkie talkie straight away and it would be resolved within minutes. Referees decision is final............cant imagine a claret jug being awarded retrospectively after an upheld appeal on a contentious disorderly conduct penalty

Now we're into defining club chucking....I draw the line at club chucking (and Iāve had my moments in years gone by, including snapping a couple of clubs). Itās petulant.
Swearingā¦. Crack on! (Sorry mods!)
VAR in Golf....?.bring it on......Other sports manage. If someone had a meltdown on the 16th, final round, I imagine the referee would be on the walkie talkie straight away and it would be resolved within minutes. Referees decision is final............
No different to a penalty given for other reasons.
but it is different as its subjective.Other sports manage. If someone had a meltdown on the 16th, final round, I imagine the referee would be on the walkie talkie straight away and it would be resolved within minutes. Referees decision is final............

litigious in the context that there could be an appeal process that overturns a decision...disciplinary sanctions get overturned every week in football when red cards are rescinded and even games have been replayed due to high profile refereeing errors so its not a unheard of as you seem to be asserting.āLitigiousā
When are we going to see a premier league club sue the referee for making a mistake? Especially if it means relegation.
Players throws club is that subjective? No itās clearly visible so penalty!but it is different as its subjective.
penalties in golf are objective.
is your ball OB? yes - penalty
do u have 15 clubs in your bag? yes -penalty
did you ground your club in the bunker? yes - penalty
did the ball move after you addressed it? yes - penalty
this brings in the potential for: unpopular LIV guy swears on 18th tee of final round with a 1 shot lead. penalty. popular hometown player does similar on 8th tee on thursday. no penalty.
extreme fringe examples. and yes those could be defined as sanctionable.Players throws club is that subjective? No itās clearly visible so penalty!
Player smashes the tee box, again no lt subjective
Player snaps club not subjective
Player destroys bunkers, not subjective.
All of those things happen and are witness whereās the subjective argument to appeal those actions.
That's the same as slow play penalties now. Given to the amatuer no one has heard of, not given to a world top 10 player. That's up to the authorities whether they apply it or not.but it is different as its subjective.
