Can anybody tell me the name of the lead you can use to connect your computer to your television. I was told there is such a lead but did not know what it was called.

How much would it cost?

Thanks in advance for any replys

VGA Cable..

http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=vga+cable

You'll need to work out which ends match your kit, most come "ready to fit" from your computer to monitor. I did in fact use one to link my laptop to my Panasonic Viera.

Available from about £3, even a gold 5m is under £10....from the right place....

Look how much money you could spend....

These guys take the mick....they really do.....sorry, but it's true....same cable £44.99....

Thanks RG

I just looked at the connection and I can see where I plug it into my laptop but there is no 15/16 pin socket for it on my tele. It is an old sharp television and has the holes for the leads that were split into three sockets - 1 red, 1 white and 1 yellow.

I can see the socket I need on my sky box but is that any use? Will the feed go through it to the television?

Confused!!
ps Happy Birthday hope you are having a good day

You need an adaptor of some sort or a vga to 3 plug affair.

Forget it, honestly.....I have exactly the right lead and a brand new telly and can't get a full picture going on the TV anyway....

It all depends on your graphics card. With a "proper" Radeon ATi or Nvidia G force, there will be a use interface to change the output setting.....it would take me under 30 seconds on my home desktop or work PC, but not using an intel on-board.....

My comp is set up through my 37" tv at all times, didnt have a problem setting it up or using it since. Just wacked the cables in and away I went

Took my dvd out of the loop and put it away in the cupboard and now use the comp program to watch them

Only thing I have to do is sit on the floor with my back to the sofa whilst doing it (its quite comfy and I use a footstool to put the mouse and pad on). Good thing is me and the missus dont watch much tv so it hasnt been a problem
