Sorry to sound like a bragger but I'm chuffed to bits tonight as just found out I won the July medal today (both category & overall) with a net 65! Cut 1.5 to new personal best of 13.5!

Started pretty poorly as went OB on the 2nd leading to a triple but managed to steady the ship and had a cracking back 9 (3 over gross). Pretty pleased because i've previously been prone to putting myself under loads of pressure in medal rounds leading to anxiety/tension and ultimately to a vicious cycle of increasingly poor shots etc. Today just kept telling myself "it's only a game of golf" (repeatedly) when things were not going so well and just took it one shot at a time.

Golf...an easy game when it comes together eh??

I played with a 16 handicapper today who was quite clearly a better golfer than me!

First round of the club champs this morning..
Started with a 8 (par 4) and that set the tone for the day...
I shot an awful 95, 5 over handicap... i did however make an awesome 2!
Hopefully i can salvage something tommorow!

Cheers boys, it's been a little while coming this year but it seems to be coming together of late.

Won the money for 1st in division plus a crystal whisky glass for overall...now to work on winning a whole set of them!!

Good stuff fella, sod the prizes, a healthy cut is always nice, another cut of any kind this or next week and you are down to 13!
Managed a small cut yesterday myself having been buffer/handicap every week since the start of June, shot a 78 in the monthly medal to drop a couple of points. Still off 8 but every little helps!
