So in my two month comeback at golf, this past weekend I scored my lowest round of 83 and yesterday I went out and played 9 holes and shot a 3 over par 39 with 4 pars, 4 bogies and one birdie on a 3100 yard par 36 front nine at my home course. Pretty chuffed as I could not even walk unaided 4 months ago and although I am still having to use a golf cart, the lessons and practice/play I am doing seem to be paying off.

Two things have helped lately. 1. Mentally treat making par as a big achievement as making a birdie. get myself pumped when I achieve this. 2. Think of the shot I want to play, not just the yardage and the corresponding club. Example: I had 119 for an approach yesterday to a pin right on the front. Usually would iut a 9 iron but decided to punch an 8 iron and bounce it off the bank in front of the green.

I am also having my first playing lesson today. Any thoughts how I can make the most of it?

Thanks

Many congratulations and clearly you've come a long way already. Bit late but how did the lesson go?

Ask questions, specifically re reading lies and making decisions on what shots to play based on lie/wind, where trouble is and what your strengths/weaknesses are
