Trump Courses

I I didn't buy something because I disliked either the owner or the company itself I'd be a millionaire by now!
Donald does pump into the courses he owns however, which helps the wider economy - and as he said when he was disowned by the Scottish government, "I wish they'd told me before I'd pumped in £200 million"

If your going to be a professional boycotter, you need to up your game my son.

Love it - a principled man, with a get-out clause.

Ah - you spotted that :) The 'rude' get out should be obvious - so if invited etc. The 'stupid' get out would be if it could be detrimental in some way (to me) for me not to play. All I'm saying is that I can't 100% say that I'd never play his courses. But I'll avoid if I can. Plenty of great tracks out there that I haven't played.

Dear Valued Friends,

In light of the media coverage regarding the recent petitions that will be discussed in parliament on January 18, we would like to share with you directly the response of The Trump Organization and give you the opportunity to back those individuals who have initiated an opposing campaign not to ban from Mr Trump from the UK.

Media Statement
The Trump Organization, New York.
January 6, 2016

"The Trump Organization has plans to invest more than 200 million pounds into the development of the iconic Trump Turnberry resort, located in South Ayrshire, Scotland. Our work there has been widely supported by the local community and created hundreds of jobs for the region. Over the coming years, we intend to further develop Trump Turnberry and invest millions more at the site, creating sustained economic growth for South Ayrshire and Scotland. Additionally, we have plans to invest 500 million pounds towards further development at the 1,400 acre Trump International Golf Links, Aberdeen, which has been consistently rated the best Modern Golf Course in Great Britain and Ireland by the prestigious Golfweek magazine and many others in the global golf community.

Any action to restrict travel would force The Trump Organization to immediately end these and all future investments we are currently contemplating in the United Kingdom. Westminster would create a dangerous precedent and send a terrible message to the World that the United Kingdom opposes free speech and has no interest in attracting inward investment. This would also alienate the many millions of United States citizens who wholeheartedly support Mr. Trump and have made him the forerunner by far in the 2016 Presidential Election. Many people now agree with Mr. Trump that there is a serious problem that must be resolved. This can only be achieved if we are willing to discuss these tough issues openly and honestly."

We greatly appreciate your ongoing loyalty and support and wish you a healthy, happy and prosperous 2016.

I'd not signed the "ban him" petition as I do believe in free speech but after reading this I'm sorely tempted to.

But that assumes that it's genuine, to be honest I can't imagine a multinational organisation would issue such a pathetic "bully boy" statement.

If they did and it gets out then the "ban him" petition numbers could go through the roof!

There is precisely no chance that MPs will vote to ban Trump. There will be a debate in which many talk about free speech, how it is wrong to brand all Muslims with the crimes of a tiny minority, how much they disagree with Trump's language, but then they will vote by a large margin not to ban him.

Why should Trump be banned from the UK? Has he committed a crime? is he a know terrorist? If you don't like him fine, if you don't wish to fill his coffers fine however can I ask where all these moral guardians were when the majority of our MP's were at it with their expenses?
Petitions are just an example of the crazy PC world we stay in.

threatening to pull out of the UK and not spend the "so called 700 million" the actions of a petulant child and shows him to be the bully he is.

I'm sure closing Aberdeen and Turnberry make great commercial sense!!
