I'now been carrying my clubs for over a month now after my new car's boot was sadly lacking in the space department, meaning I couldn't get Ll my kit in and out of sight.
Anyway, I can now declare that I prefer Trolleying to Carrying. I was able to take the trolley today and I felt fresher at the end. I played well and didn't feel tired, the feet didn't hurt and the shoulders weren't creased!

Now just got to find a way to get everything in the boot.

I've always been a carrier and always said I'd carry until the day I feel tired at the end of the round.

However, one of the guys I play with on a Tuesday has a remote control trolley and I must admit to being ever so slightly tempted by it. After all, it's a gadget and I'm a man, how can I resist :D

I'm a recent convert to trolleying and will not go back, other than in the winter if trolleys are banned.

Got a twinline 1 and it is absolutely spot on, makes such a massive difference as my shoulder was suffering with the carrying.

Now whenever I see someone carrying I wonder why!!

am definitely going to get a trolley when funds permit, I struggle on the last 2 or 3 holes with sore feet (damn them army boots knackering my feet up) and my shoulder aches like hell (reconstructive surgery years ago, never been right since)

checked a few out in AG last week and tbh not much between them, s1, twinline3, clicgear, stewart z1, yes the more expensive once have a few extra's but I most liked the twinline 3 for the cost to usability ratio.

I will still carry in evenings tho for 9 holes

Was a trolley biddy for a bit when I had a bad knee and to be honest I couldn't stand it.

I understand why people trolley and it is definitely easier, although I like carrying. Pencil bags only though. Those real heavy stand bags are no good!

Ash!!

I've just gone back to carrying after simply getting fed up of having to charge battery, set powakaddy up, get clubs from locker, go round every green before I can mark my ball, do the reverse afterwards and remember to put battery on charge etc.

I've still got the 'leccie for 36 holes or if it's raining (hate rain and carrying makes things worse). But more than happy to carry most of the time. That said, I'm fit and healthy, can now go to club on bike and more importantly enjoy a few beers afterwards without worrying about plod on the way home :D Handicap is lower than where I started this season too.

Try one of the fold up trolleys like clicgear . Best thing I done as didn't feel rite putting bag in the boot and then advertising it with a trolley on the back seat

I'll second a Clicgear. Up and running in seconds once you've got the hang of it. Incredibly low rolling resistance. only thing Ive found is that it pays to keep the break cable well '40'd.

Much is made of it's size when folded down but it's square(as opposed to long) footprint whne folded will suit some and not others- and it's NOT light.

Don't get me wrong - this is no low-key two wheeler - it's a big brash three wheeler with huge wheels (which incidentally probably won't take a set of hedgehogs if that sort of thing should be neccisary)and it's therefore probably a Marmite job.

Personally, I think it's a great halfway house between a trolley and a powered trolley and would buy another if I somehow lost it.

One question though (apologies if this seems a bit dense) but, I'm not sure under what circumstances I would be leaving a full compliment of golf gear unattended in the car? At home it all goes in a cupboard and at a club it's always with me or with a trusted second.

Apologies if I've misunderstood

I prefer carrying makes me feel like I am getting some exercise and like other have said it is more convenient getting around the course without a trolley to worry about.

I saw a junior the other day with a half set of clubs and a they were on a trolley! lazy little git.

I get plenty of exercise at work, can't understand anybody wanting to carry there clubs.Even with the best strap systems, carrying is putting strain on your back, shoulders, hips, legs, knees, ankles, etc, plus its tiring you as well.Just doesn't make sense, use a trolley and make life easier for yourself and will most probably improve your game.

I'm a driving lnstructor Billy, sometimes I have to straight from golf to a.client and having a golf bag on the back seat isn't a good look.

I have a Twinline 3 but the main problem is the size of the bag. I need a small trolley bag and then I have a chance...

fair enough. yeah, tough one. only thing I can think of is a dark coloured blanket or throw for the back seat and then gear goes under that. It'll look tidy but of course no good if your client comes with their mum who wants to sit in the back.

On a similar tip- ive got no idea how we all get a driver into the car. It's gotta be the same length as the width of most cars. I have to take mine out of the bag and put it on the back seat at an angle. if I leave it in the bag it quickly turns into a tommy Cooper sketch when trying to get the whole lot out of the car

DO they have a trolley store at your club or somewhere that they could store it for you (i know a club i used to be a member at had a trolley store that members used regularly)

I tried carrying thye first time I played. Didn't realise at the time that carrying a cart bag around 6000 yards isnt clever in 25 degree heat when you are 5 stone overweight with a fubbard knee.

I prefer to trolly purely because I get tired carrying now. Not a problem as the clubs live in my locker, the GK fits in the boot and the battery just goes straight on charge when I go in and sits there in the kitchen. We do also have a trolly storage facility but places are full at the moment (including a facility to charge batteries - I think??)

Ive never seen The Open winner carrying his clubs....
I bought a sun mountain 4 wheel push cart...love it and enjoy the windups about getting my shopping etc. Its non electric and body weight pushes it uphill without effort. Very easy assembly/foldaway
p.s. Im not a sun mountain rep but I bought their waterproof stand bag for winter when wheels more trouble than they might be worth

I have gone back to carrying for a few reasons, mainly excercise but also was fed up with the rigmarole of charging etc and my cart bag was full of so much crap that it was getting silly (when I cleaned it out I found 12 old gloves, 20 balls, 2 sweaters etc).

Not really feeling any more tired as I go round and like the freedom of not having to follow trolley routes around greens etc.

Meanwhile I have passed the Go-Kart on to my dad who is 67 and just taking the game back up again after many years out.
