Trial Titleist video

Great day on Thursday - many thanks to you, Mike and the whole Titleist team for the experience. The new gear is superb and real progress from previous models. Now - just have to upgrade my 910 Hybrids for the beauties that are the 915s, my SM4s for SM5s and fill the rest of the bag with Titleist....

Homer, you were saying about getting your spin numbers up? Unless you have like 1000rpm spin numbers shouldn't you be wanting them down?

Homer, were you aware your swing was being videoed? Almost seems like you remembered right at the end and made sure your finish position was good :)

No...just abosultely striping them on the last few once I had the driver set up sorted and even going back to the demo iron and so merely standing and admiring my handiwork. Doesn't happen very often

Looking at going to one of these events on Monday evening to try some AP2s...well worth a visit then?

Ive noticed a lot of people on video do this. Finish the swing with the club halfway down their back then adjust if while the ball's in flight to the classic pose. #busted

Did anyone actually part with their hard earned cash?

Everyone talks about the importance of being Custom fit.
Most say they will actually be willing to lose some distance for better dispersion.
I believe all those interviewed were impressed with the product.
But to be honest it really does come down to cash who actually bought a driver for £350.
I would hazard a guess no -one on the basis there will be a new model out soon and the
product tested will be cheaper or they will go off and try and get it cheaper elsewhere.

Would I part with my hard earned? It was the first time I've seen the full fitting process actually working. Must admit I was impressed watching the fitters change slight things just going off the flight scope numbers and then watching the immediate change.

Yes, it has shown me that on my next purchase I'll prob look at going for a custom fit but unless I get a lot of numbers in tonight's lottery I simply can't afford that much for a driver / 3 wood etc... And in all honesty it would still turn out cheaper to look at a paying for a custom fit on an older model driver and then searching through golfbidder or something.

But the CB irons.... mmmmmmmm! Really surprised me. Just nice to hit. Very nice indeedy.

Got to agree about the CB irons. I'm a self confessed Mizuno fanboy but if I were changing my irons now (if I had the money to I would) those would go in the bag after hitting them on Thursday. They are just superb.

I wouldn't part with £350 for a driver but the Titleist day has got me looking to get the 915 3 wood, which was the other thing that jumped out on the day, and that would not have happened were it not for this experience day.

For the driver, no; £175 a yard for a distance improvement over my existing driver simply isn't worth it and the fitter said as much. I have to say I was extremely impressed with their honesty there.

Another one looking at a 3 wood change however. The 3 wood was an absolute rocket launcher compared with mine, huge difference in spin rates.

Interestingly, no difference between the 915 driver & mine, huge difference between the 915 3 wood and mine, yet my driver & 3 wood are the same model/range from a different manufacturer. Go figure.

I've got the 712 AP2's and was looking at trying the 714 to compare, but it appeared that everyone else wanted to try them as well. That's the only reason I tried the CB's and thought they'd be more for a better player than me. Tried 6i and 4i. Both very nice! Very impressed. Tried the MB's and I'm just not a consistent enough striker of the ball for those.

Dream world I'd be booking in for a full bag fitting. Real world, I'll get fitted next time I'm going for new irons or wedges without a shadow of a doubt. Woods.... depends on how much cash I've got. £350 is simply too much for a single club for me.

As good as they are money is always the stickler. More than happy to keep a mental note of the fitting numbers and wait till the price drops with a new model and then snap up a bargain in the sales.

Not me because I'm not on the video, hopefully there will be another part not sure.

915F 5W and the AP2's were the pick of the clubs for me.

Infact I was enjoying myself so much hitting these that I missed going on any of the launch monitors:o
