"Travellers" have taken over the golf club!!!!

The club on the west side of Inverness had them 3 years ago. The land belongs to the local council and they make a point of not moving "travellers" on.

They were in the green keepers compound which is next to the 9th,10th and 15th holes. There kids had a great time rode quad bikes across the course and using the tee's as ramps. a few of them got hold of golf clubs and would try and play a few holes everynight, which involved playing iron shots of the greens.
The club and the council were scared of what they would do and left them to it for 2 months. when they went they took with them the gates and whatever else they could steal, including a couple of metal benches. but they did leave plenty for the club to have removed, including human waste, old beds and other rubbish.

These people think they can get away with anything and usually do.

Hi all
I have deleted a post in the thread as a user had reported the post as 'racist and unnecessary perception of the travelling community'.

While I do not think that was the intention/motivation of the OP I have removed it as I dont want to upset anyone

Can I respectfully ask further comments on this thread stay away from anything that could be construed as 'racist' or seen to be enforcing stereotypes of racial groups

thanks
Mike

Hi Mike, could I ask that this thread be closed please. I understand that a complaint has been made, and it wasn't my intention to slur any groups other than the group that are threatening to ruin a decent little golf club in its centenary year. I wouldn't want anyone else to get into trouble over this, nor do I think that I can promise to stay as polite as I have done up to now regarding this group.

I would also like to say a big thank you to the people on this thread who have offered advice and rounds of golf on their courses. It's what makes the forum great.

Thanks

Danny

Hi Danny
Happy to close the the thread.
agree good to see such a lot of positive responsies and suggestions and want to reiterate that I did not think it was Fish's intention to post anything untoward but one has to be a little careful these days so i am just being overcautious
