Looks like someone at the club tried to have a chat with them on Friday. Politely asked them to leave. They stated that they would for £1500. Don't know exactly how the conversation went but its from a reliable source.

It may be worth mentioning that to the council and possibly even the police although they probably won't do anything but the group will probably be well known... I would also be tempted to report every little thing to the police and the council.... No road tax on vehicles anything minor.... That way u will both the authorities into doing something possibly

Cheers for the cheer up guys. Just found out that the "travellers", or TPS as I shall be calling them from now on, have demanded £1500 to move on. There's no way the club is going to be able to put that together so it looks like we're stuck with them. The back carpark has needed tarmacing for a while anyway.

This is an absolute disgrace, these type of people are like a cancer in society that should be killed. They bring nothing to the communities they descend on other than grief and heart ache.

Danny if you want a game at Lee Park during the day this week give us a shout mate.

I am really sorry to hear this. I can't believe the laws in this country that allow this to happen.

Well they have their Youman Rights. They are also an Ethnic minority group, have freedom of expression and are fully entitled to free use of the NHS and the benefit system.

We had Travellers over the road from our 12th green a few years back and we were warned not to putt out on this hole if playing early as they usually left a present in the hole for those who dared:mmm:

I can't put on here what I actually think of this sort, seen the mess they leave when they moved in near us once - savages.

It's getting harder to stay polite to be honest. I'm going to pop up tomorrow with the dog and have a walk around the course to see if they are causing any damage. Nothing I can do about it other than to wait and see how it develops. Was quite amusing today when they were trying to tee off in the medal whilst some dodgy owd "lady" was hanging her delicates on a washing line just around the corner.. Everyone looked a bit shellshocked..

Had them on some waste ground next door to our club last year. Attempted break in to the clubhouse and the greens shed. Greens staff threatened. Fuel line on one of the tractors cut and the tank drained. Found using the showers and toilets on several occasions. We ended up bringing in a security firm to patrol the club house and greens shed out of hours - cost a fortune. The gypsies moved on when they wanted to...

Just try and make life as uncomfortable as possible for them while they're there so they move on sooner rather than later. Make access in and out difficult, especially at night. Get the barrier repaired and lock it at night so you are keeping them in, train a cctv camera on it and if they break it again you've got them.
