Hi all

This post has been agreed by Mike after Bluewolfs thread was locked.

I have just returned from Lee Park where the main gates are now closed and have staff on them due to another club apparently having travelers on the car park (I was told it is West Derby)

Mike agreed the post would be a useful heads up to the NW golfers if there are a group of people on the move.

Please dont allow the thread to turn into abuse as if they are moving up and down the country this may be a useful thread to monitor the situation!!

Cheers

I got a phonecall about this today.

Let's hope it starts raining for the next few weeks as West Derby isn't the driest of tracks.

It's good to see our club being proactive in preventing these low life's getting into our club.

I think our club may be open to abuse from these lot. Not far from a motorway and the club is minimally manned. Fingers crossed its not though, put me off playing having that lot knobbing about near my car

The club in question doesn't have no security barrier or CCTV in operation.

Our club does have a gate that hopefully is locked aswell as a barrier and cctv.

Hopefully they'll find somewhere else to live but I don't expect it to happen overnight.

Ive heard that there is a big wedding in the area so that may be why they've shown up. We got rid of ours yesterday and all it took was for the Wigan Police Golf Societies monthly comp to be affected.. On the plus side, they did no damage other than the barrier, so it could have been worse...
