..I never experience major issues with them. The rain can be kept off with a long-peaked cap and I find they help on windy days as they keep debris out of your eye.

I have tried all sorts of hats from regular baseball/golf to Mizuno "fishing" hats. They will keep my glasses dry, but my head gets hot and then the glasses steam up....

There is no contest really. Contacts win out every time, the only downside to contacts is you need to be extra careful when playing bunker shots, not to get sand in your eyes.

Having said this I tend to golf in glasses most the time with no realill effects. The answer to rain on the lenses is a hat with a peak, or wide brim & perserverence. I have played without a hat in the rain & it is possible to mentally block out the rain on the lenses, to a certain extent.

As for tints or reactolites, or polorized lenses. I thin the jury is out on that one.

Reactolites are probably the most veratile, as they will change with light conditions & reduce general squinting & some glare. On the other hand polorized does seem to give a lot more depth as far as I'm concerned & the ball sticks out better imo. Though I know not everyone is a fan of Polorized lenses.

Current glasses are reactions, thoughy there is a certain added factor to wearing contacts & then choosing a specialist golfing sunglasses like Sundog that I use with contacts.

Trywearing a visor, or a hat is say white that will reflect most of the days heat. I tend to go for white visors, great for taking the heat away, especially where there is a breeze. Britain suffers quite well with breeze...rofl

Or a Greg Norman style straw hat.

I have a visor for the wet. I originally got it to keep my head cool in the summer but as my hair has finally given up the ghost and the bald patch gets bigger daily I was getting a sun burned head and so opted back to a traditional cap. The visor only comes out in the wet when a burnt bonce isn't on the agenda

Thanks for all your comments but I think I will stick with glasses for now as I played two rounds at the weekend and found that I played better with them than with contact lenses but hey that could all change next week :)

That is the only thing about visors, that although it lets the heat get away, the sun baking down can trouble the folically challanged amoungst us. But on a coastal track with just enough breeze, wow.

Could I suggest a Greg Norman style straw hat perhaps with strong sun.

This is the thing, you are used to wearing glasses & the perspective they offer. Going to contacts does have an effect on depth perception, as far as the distances can look different going from one to the other & back again.

I remember when I first started wearing glasses years ago, all the visual distances were thrown out of kilter, suffered a similar problem initially when going to contacts. But as you get used to going from one to the other, the adjustment time is quicker.
