World rankings should be based on results over a single season, not rolled over.
There also needs to be a rationalisation of points awarded for different events, as it is there is a heavy bias on US events, some of them pretty weak imo.

The ranking points per tournament is based on th number of top ranked players in the field which by definition means a tournament with a lot of ranking points available can't be weak. Historically the US tournaments have carried more points is because that's where the top players were. With the Europeans now dominating tournaments like the BMW at Wentworth now carry more points than the equivalent tournament stateside.

With the global game developing, would it be right for each tournament to be ranked ahead of time (say in time for the 2013 season) with majors, WGC events at the top and then in some sort of sliding scale. I guess the issue is how do you compare the Portuguese Open with a USPGA event when even their lesser events usually have bigger purses. Would if be based on prize money or would there need to be other criteria too.
