I have the opportunity to try a set of these out (2nd hand set not the current model), wondered what peoples ratings were? Are they forgiving enough for an 18 handicapper? My current set are Callaway Fusions, so any comparisons out there?
Cheers!

I had Callaway Fusions and switched to Mizuno MP53's, I had similar fears but prefer the 53's and it has helped improve my ball-striking, I now get more feedback and can feel where I have mis-hit when I do (normally the hosel .....).

AP1's are a touch more forgiving than 53's so I would say go for it.

Thanks for the info!
I notice you play at Westerham, i have a society day there this weekend and not played it before, any tips??!! :o)

Same as other responses, great clubs, I upgraded from my cally x 16s last year and the 2011 ap1's are a great
club. I was off 19 this time last year and now down to 16 so would definitely suggest them on any short list you
may have.

It depends which version you are trying. I think Titleist released the first AP1 in 2008/9 and updated it a year later. I was fitted for the original version but ended up getting the 2010 version and I think the 2010 version was much more forgiving. Absolutely love my AP1s

Happy testing

No probs....

You might want to PM Bratty on here, he has been a member there for about 7 years and is currently Vice Captain so knows a bit better than me... But, for waht its worth.

The course is not long but its pretty vital you stay on the fairway and if you can shape your tee shots then the course plays quite easy. A lot of the members will only use driver on a few holes to make sure they hit the fairway with hybrids/long irons. I prefer to delude myself that the nice high draws/fades I was hitting on the range will work out just fine on the course

Greens are okay for this time of year, quite a lot of slopes and tiers so you need to be able to read the breaks to lag up close.

I think you will enjoy it, most people do, its a nice looking course and the clubhouse/members etc are all good.

Hope you like it and if the sun shines its a lovely place to play golf....
