Have we got many tiger players on here.

It's not something I see being posted regularly.

It's a weird one for me, I don't really like single matchplay. I get very little enjoyment from a singles match win but oddly I utterly love pairs matchplay.

Got a match tonight, hopefully myself and my partner can make it 4 wins from 4 matches.

New one on me never heard of that before
, I always thought rabbits was 18 + too.
I'm in that cat and love a bit of matchplay dont get thst many chances to play it competatively though.

Get yourself involved with your tigers section. You'll love it, I have enjoyed every game I've played even the one's we've lost.

I felt utterly defeated last night, played one of the worst course's we have on our calendar. Greens are possibly the worst I've ever played on. But still went in with high hopes after winning 5 on the trot. That thought was killed with a 5&3 loss against a fella off 9 that was up and downing from 40 yards every hole. I hit 10 GIRS and only missed one fairway all night but this guy just got up and down off every bad shot.
2 prime examples, stroke index 1 a long par4. Screaming drive and perfect hybrid to 20ft away. This guy tops his drive 100yrds , hits a half decent 3 wood then a wedge to 6 ft and drops his putt with a shot. Next hole was a long par3 playing 205yrds. I hit a perfect 3 iron to 15ft, I'm the only one to hit the green, he is 30yrds short of the green. He pitches on to about 25ft away and then sinks his putt for 3. I leave my putt an inch short for a half. I was pretty deflated by this point but still tried to battle on until two holes later. Another long par3 playing all down hill. 215yrds with the flag tucked in the back left. He hits a 3 wood to 40yrds short and right. I nail a 5 iron to 10ft, I finally believed we may get a hole. How wrong was I, he pitches on to 5 feet and sinks the putt. My birdie chance doesn't drop and another hole halfed. They win on the next hole with a shot. Gutted and totally a defeated man. I played the 15 holes in +4 and we got battered, there was nothing else I could do. unreal.

My old club didnt operate a system like that despite having a full membership.

I find those things differ from club to club, usually if clubs in local area have a long history of inter competitions they develop similar things like that.

It is probably a lot less common than you think (or maybe just a Yorkshire thing).

I do love any kind of matchplay, its raw golf in my opinion

Every club usually has rabbits section but a tiger section seems to be a dying group.

Never heard of Rabbits section at any club down here in deepest Kent. The only rabbits we have are being shot by the pest controller mmmm now theres an idea to speed up play!

Wow, really didn't realise it wasn't a nationwide thing. Maybe thats why we don't see many posts about it.

Do you not have rabbit/tiger open days. Our rabbits section is the biggest section in the whole club.

Very odd

We have club matches, open to any one. We have scratch matches for the very low boys.

We then have divisional club matches, Tigers being 0 to 10, foxes from 10 to 19, and then nothing that I am aware of for the rabbits, 20 to 28.

the seniors do their own thing, but can also play in the divisional stuff.

At my last club, there was a scratch stroke play comp that was split into the three divisions as above. I won it 2 years out of 3 off 11 (so off scratch it's a heck of an advantage when every one else up to a 19 handicap is playing off the same as me). Then got bunged into the Tigers off ten, and was then at the opposite end, giving 10 shots away. Didn't win it again. Impossible.
