As it is matchplay I think it isn't such a big deal that he isn't playing great. He can have a few bad shots and still be in contention

I would say that was Stricker carrying him a fair bit. Tiger is undoubtably THE biggest draw in golf and of course the decision is based on money.

Granted, he is a good pick as they won't know what Tiger will turn up, plus he will get the fans through the turnstiles, but for Couples to say that "he's the best player un the world forever" is just plainly stupid.
